New 440xi GC inbound - build and tracking?
Very excited to have a 440xi GC incoming , hopefully in time for Christmas. My fourth BMW starting with a 2003 z4 3.0, then onto an x1 , an x3 diesel and now finally back on the faster and sportier end of the spectrum.
Canadian car 440xi Gran Coupe M sport carbon black Night blue Dakota leather Brushed aluminum trim with high gloss black highlight Premium packaged enhanced Driver assistance pkg M performance package 1 Smart phone connectivity package Active led lights Air breather in body colour Storage compartment package In Canada we don’t have the fancy tracking system, I have the VIN and look to be about 30 cars from production based on bimmer.work How many Gran coupes do they make a day? Will this build run through this week? Assuming 10 built a day? Any timelines for delivery to Toronto post production completion? Last edited by Canadian eh!; 11-14-2017 at 10:52 PM.. |

Big shout out to TheBingoBalls who has been working behind the scenes and helping to track this for me!!
Car has now left factory for shipping and shows December 23rd arrival in Toronto. Need to pressure the dealer a bit to shave a few more days off if I can. Looking forward to tracking the ship! |

Look's like you've ordered a well spec'd GC and I hope you get your Christmas wish. Just one thing, don't be a hoser and forget to post some pics when you take delivery, eh?

Discovered a whole new frustration today. Seeing cars built several days after mine already showing as loaded onto a ship and mine still has a few days before the ship even arrives in Bremerhaven !!!
On the plus side the marine traffic app is very cool and you can track in real-time exactly where your ship is. Recommended for the obsessed car tracker. |

I think Tom Petty said it best, "the waiting is the hardest part".

Okay, so I think this is my ride!
The process of tracking has been a real learning experience and there some great resources on this site.
Took this screenshot from the BLG WEBCAM in Bremerhaven site Which shows the Thermopylae riding at dock ready to pick up my girl. She sits in the BMW loading area of the docks shown here Which is from the marine traffic app and will allow me to track her across the Atlantic I am almost certain this is the ship as it is the only scheduled one I can find heading to Halifax. Still no update on the Willenius Wilhelmsen site, but hoping it shows tomorrow as the ship departs December 1st for arrival in Halifax on the 11th. Still a shot at Christmas delivery !!! |
