I havent ordered my car or even been in a new F30 yet. But the lack of new car smell could be due to bmw using plastics and other materials with less volitile organic compounds (VOC's) which cause the new car smell (voc's are also what makes new cars' windshields foggy).

Congrats by the way!

Very nice, congrats.
My ordered 318d is very similar to yours (both interior and exterior), but no automatic.
Still have to wait more than 2 months...

Professional media package adds internal HDD for music which is an extra on the menu and adds an extra button on the control panel. Also adds extended LCD area in the intrument panel area. The mpg dial is LCD.

Not sure if the BMW online/assist stuff is extra or not (weather, news, google search, remote assistance)

PrinceBarin,

Congrats on a fantastic looking wagon. Jealous of the Xenons, really wish I'd gone for them.

Does the passenger wing mirror dip in reverse? I can't seem to get mine to, although it is manual and does not have folding mirrors.

Many thanks!

The passenger wing mirror does dip when I am in reverse. You need to have the mirror selector switch set to "driver side" (seems somewhat counterintuitive considering it's the passenger mirror which dips) but you probably knew that.

My mirrors are also the optional electrically folding type (per my pics) but I didn't think that was a factor.

Compass is US spec only.
Thanks, you are correct on all counts. Lesson learned for next time!

That said, I have found an extra 12v socket under the glove box so I have two!

Excellent! Thanks for the review. Your car looks great and even better that it's a diesel. I'm still holding out for the diesel in the US.

thanks for sharing! nice photos! i ordered a 320i luxury mineral grey with black interior and am getting very nervous about how the anthracite wood trim would turn out (i'm not a wood person but there wasn't a choice with the luxury). how are you finding the trim?

Funny, I was equally as worried - wood trim was never my choice but you're stuck with it if you choose luxury, plus the brochures make it look black/grey so I figured it would be OK. In reality it has a tinge of brown but, despite my initial reservations, I really like it. It blends in nicely with interior and makes the cabin feel really smart. Everyone who has been on the car immediately comments on how nice it is.

Love the car, for me it was the 320D or the 328, I went with the 328 as I don't
really do any miles anymore

Personally, I'm more worried that the dark interior might look too bland and less luxurious than my current E90 beige interior.
Problem is that I ordered the black interior like yours without seeing it in person, only from photos.
What's your experience?

I have always had black leather interiors and was tempted by the beige so I know what you mean. However, I love this new interior - more than I expected given my misgivings about the anthracite trim. I think the luxury line touches help to break it up a bit too. Truly, I think you'll be delighted with I when it arrives.

Thanks, I'll let you know when I get mine.
I did however not order the anthracite headliner, that would have been too dark for my taste.
