Where do I begin...
Parking lamp malfunction x4 Engine map thermostat replaced (check engine light on, no other warnings given to me in iDrive) Transfer box replaced (overheated?) All brake pads and discs at least once (the US spec pads and discs have no heat capacity for speeds greater than 65-70mph so they warp very easily, corner braking also causes excessive rear brake pad wear IMO) Faulty rear brake pad wear sensor (probably installed incorrectly when pads were replaced) Drivetrain malfunction (resolved spontaneously without explanation) Vent replaced for peeling trim Rear vents replaced due to cracking CD case on top of front passenger seat bass speaker leading me to believe I needed a new speaker (doh!) New windshield wipers I didn't ask for from dealer (?) Extra insulation installed for rattling driver side door panel Driver side window reprogrammed for lack of auto up/down feature (d/t battery being disconnected??, not sure) I have 24,000 miles on my 2013 320i xDrive. This is why I lease. Total cost out of pocket: $188.04 (rear brake disc labor- per BMW NA who wouldn't pay fully for rusty/grooved discs under no-cost maintenance) Loss of my business to the dealership that did all of this repair work and was reimbursed by BMW NA (d/t the brake repair charges): priceless Last edited by pjohns21; 02-14-2016 at 11:18 PM.. |

so far 23,000 miles on my 2013 328i, bought it new.
Rattle on driver side dash developed around 10,000 miles, took it to a dealer few times didn't solve the issue. Got it fixed myself recently as it turned out to be the driver side ac vent. Rattle from center console, where I drive knob is present. Fixed by the dealer. Rattle from trunk just recently. Solved this by fastening the bolts on the trunk ceiling. Trunk spring squeaking developed just recently. I fixed it with a spray of Pb blaster. Thermostat replaced (recall) The A/C is rather smelly during cold start, must be the molds on the evaporator even though the cabin filter have been replaced. Gonna buy A/C Spray. Tires due soon for replacement. My biggest concern was the rattle which annoys me every time, but it's been quiet so far after having all fixed. |

25k miles on my '13 328i with no issues up to date.
Indy changed out oil around 1500 miles (I'm a sucker for Mike Miller's old school maintenance). Walnuts will be done at 50k miles. Plugs will be done at 50k miles. Trans fluid, filter/gasket at 50k miles. Coolant flush at 50k (has anyone done it sooner/later)? Fuel filter at 50k, though my car is the SULEV so don't remember if it can be changed or not w/o replacing the fuel tank. Rear diff fluid at 50k. I've asked this before on here and wondered the water pump/thermostat life on the n20's. Read here a while back about a n20 calling it quits at 72k miles, though seems it's an isolated case? |

2013 335i RWD. 38K miles now.
Issue#1. 700 miles in, "drivetrain malfunction". Dealer replaced turbo. Issue#2. 10k miles, squealing brakes, more like an annoyance than an issue. I overhauled the braking system for the Stoptech Trophy Kit. Issue#3. around 15k miles, noise from ac vent. I bought the weight and add it to the intake hose myself Issue#4. around 31k miles, loud humming noise under the hood. Replaced the waste gate solenoid myself |

So I'm guessing you did it around 30K and 60K ? Do you have pictures of the condition of the engine those two times before you did it ?

Also for the people who have done the walnuts, did you have a indy shop do it or a dealer? My local dealer last year advertised a $450 special but was only for the 4 & 6 cylinders. Pretty convenient since you'll be offered a loaner, whereas a indy most likely won't.

'12 328i Sport 6MT, 25k miles, 4 years old. Not even close to high mileage, but so far:
Trunk spring Thrust arm front passenger side Steering rack replaced with updated version Camera and wiring from bumper cam MAP sensor Clutch switch Battery Window seals First thing I asked for was the trunk strut/spring to be replaced for smoother opening, supposedly it was done but not much improvement. Mentioned a front end noise, one "thrust rod" found to be leaking fluid and was replaced. Mentioned front end noise more specifically and reproduced with technician on a drive, I was seeking a new updated steering rack based on another user's experience, my wish was granted and so far so good. Camera system faults occurred, bad signal found from front right bumper cam. Camera and wiring replaced and re-routed through I think a less-wet path to the firewall. MSA frequently stalling on re-start with occasional drivetrain failure warnings; slow cranking speed on cold starts. MAP sensor fault, replaced. Clutch switch failed diagnostics and was replaced, symptoms later returned. Replaced battery and finally all is well - take note here, many electrical oddities will stem from a failing battery, this car is voltage sensitive! Window rubber seals seem a little noisy on the highway and appear to have swollen or shrunken away from the top of the glass and the b-pillars. There's a thread on here about the issue. I asked my technician and he agreed to replace them while my car is in for its final free oil change. All in all not bad, I've only ever gone to the dealer once outside of annual maintenance visits (for the clutch switch after multiple powertrain faults). I'm feeling confident as my warranty nears its expiration, but then again I'm a technically inclined DIY type of car owner. I have an oil catch can installed, hopefully preventing the need for walnut blast. |

2012 BMW F30 328i - I have owned the car for exactly a year and I have managed to put on 36,000 miles. Yes, thats a lot but i have had 0 problems besides the usual maintenance replacements and replacing the EPDW (Electropneumatic pressure convertor). She is sitting at 68k and running strong. Mods?I have currently CAI, Downpipe, JB4 they have been on for about 30,000 miles. I am considering the BMS catch and doing walnut blasting soon.

I also read somewhere that a low battery might cause these warnings, but I know the battery still good and it is charged since I drive it quite a bit. I was expecting the camera control module to be bad since it was giving the Camera System warning on the top view, but well see what happens. The cameras alone are 400 USD and the cables are around 175 USD or so. I am more scared about the cables in the front primarily due to how much of a pain is to route a cable. Driver mirror was replaced because it was loose. CIC monitor/screen and CIC brains were replaced as well (Not sure about the later because the CIC was working fine, the screen would dim and stay dim for a while, did it twice and I took it in. Other than that, the car has been fine. Cars have a lot of electrical crap in the and stuff will fail. As long as the music plays, windows go up and down, and no other mechanical stuff happens with it (outside of the normal stuff like pumps, belts, etc at the right mileage), I will be very happy. |

2013 BMW 328i. 48k miles. Not very many issues to speak of. Horn stopped working at 30k. Replaced both horns. Leaves got in a/c blower at 40k... fixed and upgraded so as to not happen again. Parking lamp malfunction at 42k. Fixed. That's about it.
