OEM turbo is sufficient for below 300hp. Take a look what BSR is offering for N20 engine, 312hp with stock turbo. https://www.bsr-tuning.de/tuning-kit...20-b-n20-b20-d Their Stage 1 is offering over 400nm of torque. I talked with Celtic dealer about it and they said that they have reduced torque below 400nm for a reason. Too much of a risk to break down transmission/clutch etc parts. Also Evolve is offering quite a lot torque with their Maps. If i want more power, then i should just look for new car |

I suggest u send query to BSR, if that tune is today possible via "coding dongle" they'll send you. BSR is to me a reputable player in this field. They have been in business for a long time and friends have had their tuning softwares in many cars. No other issues i recall than the usual clutch slippings in some cars. But that almost always depends on who is driving the vehicle You have such a different laws regarding warranty and car pollution etc that could be something like it slowing local dealers from starting their businesses. I recall Evolve offers remote coding option also. It was about a year ago when tuning companies started to be able to code N20 engines via OBD only, no more tricore programming inside ECU board. That required opening the ECU casing. |

OP, have you made a decision on which to get? I also have a F30 320i and I'm looking for some decent gains as well!

I got BM3 and went Stage 1. Super happy. I'm in Pa and having a catless DP won't let me pass emissions inspection, so after April I am gonna install a DO and FMIC and go Stage 2. I've seen a 320i on FB that's Stage 2 and it looks hella fun.

1. Does this void your bmw warranty? 2. Is this harmful to the car if you have no other mods whatsoever? 3. Do you feel a big difference in driving? 4. Has your MPG been affected in any way? 5. What was the total cost for this project?

1) It can from what I know if the issue you have is related to the tune. 2) The different Stage tunes require different mods. Stage 1 you can run without any other mods. Stage 2 is a highflow or catless downpipe and an FMIC. As long as you don't drive like a maniac you'll be fine. 3) The difference is really big. You're not going to be pushed into your seat hard, but the 320i is light enough that you'll really feel acceleration. 4) Not that I notice. I run 93 Octane and honestly couldn't say that I feel a difference. 5) BootMod3 is like 600$ I think? Catless Downpipes are maybe 400$+. FMIC can be around that too. So Stage 1 alone is just BootMod3, then to go Stage 2 would probably add another 600-800$. |

Mine is only lightly modded lol. You don't see too many tuned 320s out there so we are a small group. Definitely start with BM3 though. Anytime you can PM me!

"GTS Roar" is not an option listed on my details list.
I have exhaust flap open though, and my exhaust note is definitely deeper and louder when shifting up and down since changing that setting. I hear burbles but not loud pops or anything. Startup is perfect now, its not loud just sounds.... well tuned . It's actually funny how different it sounds when it starts up, because that dramatic high engine rev thing is gone. |
