Rebadging 335d touring - help needed with measurements plz

I want to rebadge my 335d (touring) - at least with the 335d badge - not the xdrive one as that looks horrendous.

I've had it debadged for a while but I think I'd like to go back to the badge.

I kept my old badge - frustratingly they are individual letters and not one whole part

I did take photos before with them on but haven't got measurements and my OCD will drive me bad if it is put back on wonky etc.

I've seen reference to some official measurement documents but can't find them.

Also - if you buy a new badge from the stealers is it supplied as one whole part or just the letters?

If anyone has a 335d tourer and is able to measure where the 'd' starts from the right side in - from the taillight up to the badge and the distance between each letter that would be hugely helpful!

Thanks!

I keep thinking about doing the same to my 335d Saloon as well as put the x drive back on but like you, i'm quite OCD and would want it to be perfect.

We need something like this....

I have a 335d touring, if someone hasn’t already done it for you I’ll have a measure when I’m finished work later this afternoon

I wouldn't be too OCD about it, I reckon if you measured exactly the position of the badges on a few cars they wouldn't all be positioned exactly identically. Just looking at pics online I can see with the naked eye how irregularly the model number badges are positioned on these cars.

Why don't you just go to a stealer and take your pick from the forecourt?

If you buy from a dealer you'll get 335d in a sleeve already pre-spaced out between two peelable layers of plastic so you'll just have to concentrate on placing that squarely on the rear.

The dealer should also have a template so if you ask nicely they will probably fit it as well.

Well - I risked it and went by eye and I think it's gone pretty well....

The only thing I don't like is that the 3m tape I used can be seen from different angles but i'm sure as this weathers it won't be an issue

Have I got it straight enough?!

Was just about to have a measure for you, compared to mine your positioning isn’t bad, maybe a tad too low.

Cheers - I would appreciate measurements anyway if you wouldn't mind (no rush)

Then I will refit as per measurements at some point

Hopefully people won't notice it being different - am sure they won't

I would say that's pretty much the right position, but maybe a few millimetres too low.

Could you find a badged one ask nicely then mark on a piece of paper the start and end of each letter?

Sorry to hijack this... Can some one put up some measurements for an F30 335d please for the badge placement.

Or can I be cheeky enough to ask for someone to make a template on a sheet of A4 of where to badge sits similar to this...

Sorry.. I'm just really OCD and would hate for it to be wrong! ha

Ditto please can someone measure please - mine is F31 335d estate but probably similar

I've bought some new double sided tape and I want to remove and remount the badges and try and get them as exact as possible.

If the other of measuring is still open then pretty please!

Not really sure this helps now i've seen the pictures and it looks like the rule is overhanging and skew whiff. But on picture 2, i held the 0cm mark level with the edge of the boot, picture 1 i held the 0cm mark with the centre of the roundel etc.

But yeah, I don't really think it will help you. Fabric tape would be better.

As a mater of interest what adhesive did you use to fit the badges?

That isn't OCD, that is an amazingly well prepared guide.
