I just wanted to make a new thread to start a discussion about the car in the title. Also, any feedback or suggestions from different car owners are welcome.

I would like to start the thread regarding oil measurement in the car, as I'm having some trouble at the moment.

Suddenly got a warning to add 1l of oil, car going for an oil change in few days.
Last time oil was changed was around 12,000km ago. I have added recommended oil as per the handbook manual, but I just added 500ml to be sure.

I have drove the car, then let it cool off... Once more drove and then checked the oil via .IDrive and it still stated minimum and to add 1l of oil.

I got the bimmerlink app and checked the raw value of oil. It stated 69mm on a running engine. Then when I turned it off for few min, and watched that live data when I turned on it stated 80mm then quickly dropped down back to 69mm.

Im not sure if my sensor is faulty, and would like to find out if anyone has correct measurements of oil for this engine. (5.75l oil capacity).

To be honest just change your oil because last time was 12000km ago (I recommend 7000km-10000km) and just buy new oil sensor it's 50$
