Plenty cowboy sellers out there and plenty gullible fools who think buying a Rolex is a rock solid, cast iron investment.

I'd hazard there are plenty people taking a deep bath after buying at the peak

No, a dealer in London called Pomerance Boutique. I've had three Rolex from them, and a ring for 'er indoors. All good

Very nice, white dial EXP II 226570 is what I really want!

They (like all other luxury watches) have shit themselves in terms of residuals and its looking like you can pick them up for close to list without all of the hassle of dealing with an obnoxious experience in an AD!

Have they? I’m interested in learning from where you can pick one up without the stupidity normally associated with buying a Rolex.

Indeed. It's a good time to buy. Eighteen months ago, I'd have paid £11,500 for the latest Explorer 11. I paid just over £9k for a full set, 2022 model with three years of Rolex guarantee.

So this is a sample from my collection.
From left to right.

Something cheap- Swatch Sistem 51 (£60 on Amazon on a super sale)

Something old- Omega Deville quartz- (my late father’s watch from the 90’s )

Something new- Tissot Seastar (friend works at swatch group and at Xmas had a 80% discount on this watch. No brainer)

Something pricey (to me) - Tag Carerra( previous gen- was a wedding present and no where near as pricey as some of the rollies from some of these posts!)

Something blue- Tissot PRX (great colour for the summer)

Something modified- Seiko 5 SRPD.
(Sapphire crystal, rifled bezel, deep purple bezel insert. Not ballsy enough for a watch face change… yet)

Morning all.
I strayed onto the Omega website today. I was surprised to see some models like the ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ watch were still headlining in the front page. I think I wa a last ‘looking’ about 5 years ago end this was just out then, there doesn’t seem a lot of new stuff in the Men’s lineup? Have the Planet Oceana or SM300 been refreshed yet?

Lovely watches and still probably my favourite brand but have they been dormant for a while?

Hey, I don't know much about the other models but the SM300 I did some research into before buying and it last had a major update in 2018. Lovely watches and if it aint broke don't fix it springs to mind however it is nice to see what they update the watches with as the clear backing on the body of the watch and making it a master chronometer from 2018 are really nice touches. I am a fan of the wave effect on the dial but I know some people aren't.

If there's a particular colourway you like then get it bought, when the refresh the model you can always look at part ex it in against a new one if the changes are enough for you to want one.

Cheers Dan. Yes probably watch development is pretty expensive and models stay for some time. I have a near 30 year old now SM300 auto that I love in the classic blue colour way…. hard to beat!!
I did like a PO600 I had but maybe it’s them I was so surprised to see had not updated.

Probably a good thing for my bank balance nothing had caught my eye! 🤗

I had a tough time deciding as I was really interested in a few other watches such as;

Tudor Black Bay Chrono - https://www.watches-of-switzerland.c...002/p/17770809

Tudor Black Bay GMT Pepsi Bezel - https://www.watches-of-switzerland.c...001/p/17770572

Something about a Pepsi Bezel which I really love! Anyway I am happy with my choice who knows perhaps in 10 years for my 40th I'll treat myself to another nice time piece !

Yup, all DIY.
Been tinkering it more after I took a brave pill and found the courage to remove the hands to change the dials after watching many YouTube tutorials

Base watch was just any Seiko SRPD, even a really beat up one. As you can get every part on Ali express from case to even the movement (just that it isn’t actually Seiko)

Ps - for all the folks thinking why I have a GMT bezel when It isn’t a GMT. I know , I know. I couldn’t find the colour combo for the non GMT option for this build .
