340 w/ MPPSK should I add down pipe?

I have my 340 with MPPSK, JB4, and intake. I just ordered a catless down pipe, with angle sensor for no CEL. With having the MPPSK I am curious if the down pipe is needed as I read that it actually can slow the car down. Car sounds great so I am torn between catted and catless. Just wanting some more flow. (sorry if there is already a thread for this, I could not find a clear answer)
Any suggestions or video on how it sounds and performs is appreciated.

definitely fishy.

so I'm torn between a catless and catted down pipe.

I’m not sure if Catless will sound better, turbo spool is deff louder but also exhaust is a lot more raspy you may need to add a aftermarket resonator, that’s what I had to do

just really don't want it to be obnoxiously loud. how much of a sound difference is the catless versus the catted and is there much of a performance difference between the two?

Yes there's tons of performance difference, your freeing up all that back pressure so your turbo can breathe a Catless dp only exists because emissions bro. Go Catless dp

Agreed on the more raspy note. All depends what you like. If OP prefers a more quiet / muffled exhaust note he should stay away from a catless pipe, particularly on a MPPSK car due to lack of resonators.

I did notice that the exhaust quieted down after a few months.

Uh, I have the full AWE exhaut + a catted DP. Quiet and my car don't belong in the same sentence. It's loud but sounds good. I've gotten lots of compliments from random guys (including an F80 owner). It has a bit of rasp, but no so much as catless, and at the power levels I'm shooting for, I don't need to go catless. Not much of a performance difference IMO.

Dude in sport mode with a catless dp it will be straight pipe when the valves open and bypass the muffler... i would look into a catted. I have the MPE + 5" catted and its loud as is!

which dp did you go with? I have neighbors and don't want to be that guy, more than I already am. Also don't want to go on a road trip with an annoying hum from the exhaust for hours.

Catless downpipe is the way to go. It's cheaper, more power gains (if any on this platform), and who doesn't like shooting the occasional flame? Catted and catless will be very similar volume wise.

It's going to be obnoxiously loud with the valve open, but mostly on cold starts. Cold starts with a full exhaust, catted or catless, are probably the loudest of any car on the street today. No joke. Nothing holds a candle to the B58 on start up.

Driving around it will be ok with valve closed or open, but may be a bit too loud for you at lower speeds. With catless dp, it gets very raspy around 2500-3000rpm. I have catless downpipe and full AWE exhaust and it honestly doesn't sound too great just driving around, sounds like a tractor unless you are super light on the gas. The turbo spool, overrun, and WOT pulls are what make it worth it. MPPSK could be different on that end though. It won't be the loudest car on the road but it's up there.

There's not really any drone with catted or catless. There's some slight noise at highway speeds but not bothersome (subjective, obviously) and easily drowned out with music.

Cold starts can be quieted down about 90% by holding in the gas pedal very very slightly, or by buying a flash tune with cold start delete, but that will overwrite your MPPSK flash.

Think you'll hit the limit with another mod and see throttle plate closure or whatever it is.

When your at full throttle the ecu will close the throttle a bit or feel like it and reduce torque and timing when shifting into the next gear

I'm thinking I'll just go with the catted 200cell to get double the air flow but not be as loud. I started my car this morning and my neighbor was standing next to her car and when it opened up while idle she looked it caught her attention because it was so loud, to her.
thinking a catted will be a bit louder but def not as loud as the catless but still get better airflow.

Here is a video I just took this morning.

Let me know what y'all think, definitely think the catless DP would be over kill.
