Yet many parts from the E90 335i work on the F30 335i and that was a "completely different car" as well.

As realoem still does not list the diff for the G20s, right now it's an unknown.

However, the G20 specs for the 330 still show it using a 2.81 final, just like the F30 LCI.

If I'm not mistaken, believe the G series uses an electronic torque-vectoring LSD, they dubbed a M Sport differential, similar to the M cars now.

So if that's the case, I'm 100% it won't work.

I've seen BMW Group's press release: "the new M Sport differential. Through a targeted locking effect on the rear axle, the electronically controlled system, which is linked to the DSC stability programme, creates the optimum prerequisites for even more dynamic acceleration out of bends."

M Sport Differential - (2VF)
Although, are ALL G20 using these or just the M340?
Not 100% sure. Sorry :
Yes, that's the issue.

A lot of unknowns at this point....despite someone else mad about info on this forum not being absolute.

Ok, now I've officially confirmed that it's part of the ZTR – Track Handling Package (2NH – M Sport Brakes, 2T4 – M Sport Differential) for $2,400 on the G series 330i, standard of the M340i.

Slightly differently option code for some reason (2VF vs 2T4) but they both appear to operate the same way, electronically.

It looks like an electronic factory LSD is an option for all new non-M models. A generation too late, I might add

I pretty sure that was the case before but I wanted to confirm it.

So we complete the circle....what is the standard OEM diff on the G20?

If it's the same diff 2.81 diff as the F30 LCI, then the F30 LCI 2.81 Final MPerformance LSD would NOT go on sale in 5 years.

If it is not compatible, then the MPerformance LSD for F30 LCIs will most likely will go on sale then.

Such a long path to get right back to the same place 6 hours later.

Got one a month ago and it's installed and just finnish the 500 mile break in. Sport + is harder to break the tires loose. Lots more grip. I'm a big fan so far

$2300 for that price you cold just get an x drive car if you want more traction off the line. Even with the new price plus install you're costing possibly more than the additional cost to get an x drive when new and less if used.

Got mine the day they went on sale, installed a few days after receiving, I didnt do the recommended 500 miles, I did the 30 circles in each direction at 1k rpm. Car is a whole new animal honestly. I'm FBO on big boost 3.4+ and a LSD is just what my car needed, feels Xdriveish out of the hole and feels like a true M car around tight bends, highway on ramps have never been so fun before 😌

I love it. The boost lag is noticeable, but with brake boosting there is no lag, it's a dual ball bearing turbo so it spools pretty quick, and the power is insane, it wants to keep going and going , I feel like if I could rev to 10k rpm the car still wouldn't fall on Its face. Ps2 maxes out at 550ish whp depending on setup, and you are really stressing that turbo out, but this kit doesn't even bat an eyelash at 600+ whp. It feels like a supra in a way.

I will agree with the car feeling totally different. At stop lights now the tires grip so much more when I punch it, and when it does slip its catches itself quicker and I see much less traction control light. I did the 500 miles before I did some hard launches and I really feel the grip has been improved.

Hard corners are a lot more fun :-)

Can someone help this new-to-BMW owner out?

LSD?
LCI?
PS2?

I keep seeing these, but keep not knowing what they are. I can infer a bit, but I don't think it's helping any...

Lsd = limited slip differential, usually our cars have open diff which doesn't put all of the power to both wheels all the time, limited slip puts equal power to both wheels

Lci = life cycle input aka minor redesigns, here's a post comparing pre lci and post lci f30 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1124274

Ps2 = pure stage 2, it's an aftermarket turbo solution that used the factory turbo housings so it's a direct bolt on solution that looks stock from the outside but has larger internals for greater horsepower.

I just ordered from BMW Portland Parts for $513 shipped. List price is $492. Which is a great deal.

I think they have one more in stock.
