NBT EVO ID6 Aux coding
Bimmertech are offering their MMI Prime for ID6 units now. Prior to this, other manufacturers needed a sound card to be plugged into one of the USBs which then took an AUX line from the interface and routed the sound that way.
For this MMI Prime interface, they are now saying that there is no need for this and instead offer the option of remote coding to enable AUX input (I am assuming they mean the front aux in the big plug at the back of the HU, not an actual aux 3.5mm input). Does anyone know which parameter in the config this is? Can it be done through Bimmercode Expert or is it Esys only? (I've paid for the remote coding option already, but I'd rather do it myself than faff around with hotspots etc as I don't have wifi coverage in my garage) |

Thanks, incidentally I was checking what settings HU had and found 8 entries in total: 3000 HMI (4 parameters) 3001 EXBOX (4 parameters) For reference for anyone looking for it, (1) & (3) are contained in 3000. I am only checking the DEMO (offline) version of Bimmercode as I didn't go to the vehicle yet, but (2) was not present in any of these. I'll try it live later today. |

Reviving the thread - Wibbles thanks very much for the info - I have coded it through Bimmercode and AUX is now appearing. Will be installing the MMI box over the weekend and will report back if all works.

How did this go? Did the Aux coding work for the MMI install? |

Reviving this thread for anyone asking themselves the same questions.
Bought an Andream MMI box for my EVO unit (2020 M2C) and fit in into the little cubby space next to glovebox. I used Bimmercode with a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE to code the ECU. Only had to switch CDMM_AUX_SIMPLE_1 to aktiv since the other 2 were already switched on. That worked and the AUX input was now showing up in the UI! Once I switched to the AUX input, I finally had sound through the MMI |

Thanks for that. Revived threads are often the most useful and this is a big help to me.
It pisses me off that so many people get what they want from a forum and then don't provide any feedback - even after promising they will! I'll post back after trying those settings after the weekend....Promise.... |

So I fitted an MMI box today and can confirm that to enable the sound to work without using a physical AUX connection, the only item that needed coding was 'CDMM_AUX_SIMPLE_1 to aktiv'. Exactly as nahoyb described.
The installation was fairly straightforward, but getting it to connect with my phone was more of a challenge and it kept disconnecting, asking for USB to be plugged in, etc. As it stands, I haven't been able to connect wirelessly to Android Auto yet - only via USB. |

I too have an MMI
Hi,
How did the aux go with the unit. I have just purchased one and it comes with a USB to 3.5mm adapter that plugs between the supplied harnesses mail 3.5mm and the USB under the armrest. I don't really want to have to do that so I coded the AUX as per the notes in this thread. The question is with the MMI installed do I need to do anything with the 3.5mm lead in the kits harness or will now simply selecting the newly available AUX option in the media options of the car be sufficient? |
