Fuel conundrum!!!!!

Now here’s a strange thing. Normally I only use Bp diesel and mock supermarket fuels ( diesel) because my highly sensitive and well calibrated arse dyno conclusively proved that my 335d felt much better and ran smoother on the good stuff.

However currently I’ve got a mix of Shell, Bp, Texaco, Sainsbury and Tesco fuel and my super accurate arse dyno tells me not only is the car running as smooth but is a lot more economical- with a range of 550 miles on the current tank of unholy fuel cocktail!!

Only other changes were a run down to Cornwall again ( went 6 weeks earlier) plus a new battery a couple of months back plus an air con recharge.

What’s happening to the world

Bosh some Millers ecomax or Archoil in the mix that'll liven up the but dyno

Maybe your arse Dyno needs a reset, a cocktail stick into the recessed hole and hold it down for 30 seconds. Then try it again....

Interesting. I've always used 99 ron in my 340i but due to the current crisis down south I've put a tank & a half of 95 in. Can't feel any difference with my dynobutt but maybe it takes a few more tanks for the DME to adapt.
Saving 12p a litre though.

Previously I would treat my car to a tank full of premium diesel and whilst the drive felt better, it would never justify the increase in cost.

Occasionally I treat the car to a wash, albeit by hand and invariably within a couple of days it looks dirty again. So I don't bother washing it.

it's possibly the battery. After I replaced mine when I sensed it was on its last legs, cars mpg rose and car ran super smooth.
