IHKA Climate Control Display Retrofit (pre-LCI)
Hi guys. I've been searching on the net about how to perform the AC control panel upgrade (single to dual zone) and found some threads on this forum. Since my problem is a bit different (most people want to update to LCI climate control) I'll just create a new thread. I have a pre-LCI 2013 F31 with single zone climate system and bought a dual zone automatic AC panel with the number 64119287336 (pre-LCI panel, up to 03/2014). I don't care about the dual zone climate system, I just want a digital display
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=64_2238 I coded the 534 option in ESYS and some of the options that were presented. Unfortunately my car only has the following in the IHKA CAF: 3000 > KLIMA_SG_ART 3001 > AUC and does not have these (I suppose these are only for LCI cars): 3000 > KLIMAGERAET 3006 > DISPLAY-FARBUMSCHLAG With any setting (even before modifying anything) I found out that only the fan light was active and no numbers were printed on the display. Changing KLIMA_SG_ART from IHKA_1z to IHKA_2Z actually it was worse since the air would only be blowing by the windshield vents and the Auto button did not work. The fan speed works fine with any setting. Can you help? Any suggestions? Unfortunately I don't have ISTA working to check the wiring diagrams... |

I believe you will need the corresponding IHKA module as well (behind the glove box) and it wouldn't surprise me if additional wiring will need to be done for this retrofit.

Hello.
Short answer to your question is: No, you can't retrofit just the screen, you need to retofit whole dual-zone climate system. This video might help you:

Yeah, thanks guys. I understand now that the messages sent between the control panel and IHKA unit and distinct depending on the type (basic/high) of climate system. Changing the whole system seems like an overkill since I dont need the actual dual zone system. Since I'm an engineer and hobbyist maybe I'll add a " middleman" listening to the LIN bus between the dualzone panel and the single zone IHKA and remap the buttons
