Hello!

Got hold of a virginiszed 6WA cluster and will try to code it in to the car myself. The car is a 2016 420d.

I have not done any coding with esys until now, but I have read up a lot on it and feel comfortable with stuff like this as long as there is guides to follow

So, I am wondering wether this guide mentioned in this thread still is relevant? It's from 2013 and a lot might have happened since then. Thinking mostly of software versions etc

No good idea to use this guide.
The guy is flashing the Kombi what you don’t need to do.
You have to install it and code it.

So flashing is not part of the standard procedure? Why does he do it in the guide?

I really don‘t know why he is flashing the kombi.
As with most retrofits, this is not necessary at all.
You can / should maybe do that if the software of the Kombi is too different from the rest of the car. But usually simple coding is enough.

Thanks for letting me know! That means it hopefully won't be as advanced as I first thought. But it also means I need to do some more research.
