Voltage Issues, maybe battery?

Hi Guys

I have been seeing the engine management light come on. Both times was under acceleration. After a couple of days the light would go back out. A friend of mines garage plugged it in and it had few Voltage related error codes. So cleared them. The Light came back on again last night so I am guessing it might be a battery issue. The car is a 2013 and never had the battery changed as far as i know.

Anyone know a good place to buy a battery from?
I also understand replacing it will need it recoded back to the car.

Cheers

Check the alternator as well if you're getting voltage issues with the engine running

I'd suggest the first step should be to actually get the battery properly tested.

No point in replacing what might be a perfectly good battery on it 'guessing' it being related to the error codes.

Check for fault codes before you do anything.

As for buying a battery.

https://www.tayna.co.uk/

Or

Euro Car Parts. They often have a promotion on with sales code on the main page. You can try their sister site too - car parts 4 less.

deffo check alternator output and get a battery load test done .
or buy a load tester tool , I've been researching these recently and a "topdon " digital load tester rates very highly , for the princly sum of £30odd , may save an expensive battery replacement

If it does turn out to need a new battery, would the OP need to have it coded to the car by a BMW dealership?

A new battery will need registering to the car, but not essential to use a BMW dealer. Quite a few have the ability to register a battery themselves with diagnostics software.

Cheers for the advice guys.
Cleared the errors then drove it again for a few days then the engine light came on.
Checked the errors and it has an intermittent Mass airflow sensor error so will clean that and hope that is the issue.
No more voltage errors so guess they must of been old ones.
