light smoked tint on front fogs

Would light smoke tint affect the light output on my front fogs? I have high powered led bulbs and they are really bright. I don’t want to lose the brightness they put out

Do light smoke tinted sunglasses reduce the brightness of the light reaching your eyes? It's the same thing.

Fair point! I’ve seen some whereas the light output is not affected at all, in fact it’s the same as not having a tint at all. The jury is out but I’ll wrap one and make my own judgment, the headlights were previously tinted by the last owner and they still have maximum Brightness

Yes, as per Billfitz.

Additionally, the tint could change the color spectrum of the beams - at one point I had bluish rainbow (2 layer) tints on my Xenon E39 headlights. The brightness didn't suffer (it was not the dark tint), but the beam color changed.

This is how it looked on the car in daylight:

The tints also could suffer from UV (small, but present) exposure as well. Only one side of film has the UV protection (from the sun rays), but not the back side from LED beam. The film won't change (burn out) overnight, but eventually it will and you might start seeing the beam pattern. This will take time, so not to worry short term. I have seen beam patterns burnt into the lens of my co-worker's Mazda 3 when he ran aftermarket Xenon bulbs in stock projector headlights (low quality glass tubes used in bulb construction).

Thanks, I like the way the fogs omit a huge beam of light with the high powered LEDs I have installed, and the coding I did for maximum brightness with bimmercode , it’s a very powerful in combination with the high beams on dark unlit roads, so maybe I’ll leave the tints off, i read that light smoked tint outputs 87%, I’d rather 100, but I’ll wrap one side and see how it performs at night and judge for myself
