I'll keep this short and sweet...
Tested a set yesterday in Tahoe and can honestly say that they work really well. Without a doubt, increased traction and allowed me to go where I where I would normally get stuck. Very simple to get on and off a lowered F3X with limited space between wheel arch and tire. I highly recommend these for those in a similar situation (snow covered roads and tiny wheel gap). |

And that there would be a case where all the guys that bought Xdrive (that get dissed for not buying RWD) wouldn't or couldn't care less

But no, its not terribly difficult to install each wheel sock. I have a tarp to kneel on and thin kitchen type rubber gloves. Also a small hand scraper to dig at any ice or snow hanging out in the wheel well when I go to install. I start by the low rear face of each tire (close to under rear bumper) and use a slight sawing motion to wiggle over the top half of tire. After that you roll forward and pull over other half of wheel. They are self centering and will adjust to the perfect position as you drive away. As long as elastic band is over the inside edge of tire, your good to begin moving. |

Awesome. Maybe I'll pick up a set instead of swapping out rear wheels when it snows.
You live in the area? Im iin Reno but work at the lake twice a week, but that's in my work truck. I also feel like I've asked you this before... maybe on the e46 forum? |

We did chat about this once before lol. It was on here, about something else. Let me know if you plan to ski Heavenly, Northstar or Kirkwood at all. Might even be down to try Mt. Rose closer to you sometime. Worst case... definitely down to visit a BMWCCA meet once the spring comes. I think I remember you saying you were also a member but can't recall for sure... |

I have X-drive. I'm not expecting to use the socks. But, sometimes there are police checkpoints and it doesn't matter if you have AWD, they check to see if you have chains or they won't let you pass.
