In search of more traction!

After updating from BM3 Stage 2+ E30 to the new E50 tube I'm spinning into 2nd gear before I hook. I'm also sliding way too much when turning under throttle.

Current wheel setup -

Front 20x8.5 +35 w/ 245/35R/20 Michelin Pilot Sports 4S
Rear 20x10 +40 w/ 275/30R/20 Michelin Pilot Sports 4S

Current Mod List -

- BM3 Stage 2+ e50 Tune
- Spool FX-180 HPFP
- xHP Stage 3 TCU Tune
- Evolution Racewerks Catless Downpipe
- Agency Power B58 Short Ram Air Intake
- AWE Full Exhaust
- Dinan Lowering Springs

And a Vargas GC Turbo on order... With the new turbo coming soon I need to make a change to my rear wheel/tire setup.

Any size suggestions would be appreciated. I'm thinking of dropping to an 18" in the rear with 305's.

How much power are you making? I don't think you need wider tires, I'd go to a stickier 200TW tire (like Cup 2s). Keep in mind if you go too wide of a tire you can actually lessen your traction since the tires won't get warm enough to reach their sweet spot.

What's your suspension set up? Namely camber

Also you shouldn't really be on the throttle until you're wheel is straight. For long sweeping curves, just maintenance throttle to keep speed.

As above, stickier tires (R compound / lower TW) and taller sidewall with good suspension setup/alignment and proper tire pressure setting. Probably less stretch too.

I’ve got the same thing going on.

Stage 2+ e50
Vsrf high flow cat
Mst cai
Xhp stage 3
Supra hpfp

265/35/19 ps4s
225/40/19 ps4s

I assume The guys that have the turbo upgrades have needed to solve for this. I’m wondering if this can be solved by hardware, ie tire suspension upgrade, and if so, what? Or if I need get into the boost by gear settings.

Stock turbo makes huge torque in low RPM which is what breaks the tires loose, so stock turbo is actually contributing to wheel spin in that sense.
