This trim piece with the top bulb is what you need.

I ended up having to use this stuff on another car of mine with a big gap on a multi-piece airbox.

Get this filter to go with your intake

Get the filter below - You will thank me later. This thing flows a ridiculous amount of air and makes more induction noises than either of the 3 other filters I have used. It also works as a replacement for the CTS intake as well. It's large so you may have to bend up the steel tabs that hold the air box grommet to get it to fit with some intakes.

I recently received one of these off of of ebay and am overall not impressed. It came with two metal clips/tabs that have no clear logic of where they would go. One of which I think screws into the bracket that is on the inner fender area. It can screw into the air box or the fender bracket but is nowhere near close enough to be both at once. The black bolts that go to the cover do not fit the holes. The metal screws I assume are meant for the aforementioned clips but they have no mechanism for grabbing anything like a nut. There's locking washers that came with them but for the previous reason they're useless.

There is also an enormous gap between the box and the fender. Is that normal? :

On the upside, the intake pipe and filter all fit great...

Does anyone happen to know what the screw size/thread is for the cover? I'm stumped trying to find anything that matches the threading on the box.

Kryostar makes them for MST.

MST makes them for MST, and Kyostar makes a cheaper copy.

Im not debating whether that's right or wrong; it does not make a difference for me. But why are you making claims that are not true? I don't know how this adds to the discussion except by taking the attention from the product to make the thread a back-and-forth brand war.

It looks exactly the same as my MST intake so it should only need to be screwed in at the bottom where you removed the black plastic thing to begin with, and then on the back panel of the heat shield (the furthest away from your photo)

I'm only quoting what 2 vendors told me directly when I was debating the MST!

Fantastic fit/finish.

Compared to the mst in another vehicle and identical.
Save some money, and get a better filter!

I just bought an installed the Koystar intake and I feel as if it’s not as loud as other intakes I’ve seen or even as loud as other people with the same intake. Will it get broken in or something? U can return it for another 28 days so I am thinking of returning it and buying another intake. Anyone else’s intake not loud?

Material of construction on this is aluminum right for the intake pipe? Same as MST? or is it a composite?

Just ordered one. Its a aluminum intake pipe right? If so my only thought would be (1) the filter doesnt flow enough air or (2) you might want to upgrade the inlet pipe to remove those resonators as well

if it shipped from China, you wont be able to return it as it will cost more than you paid for the intake.

I got it from eBay and they have returns, but you’re right for certain things they won’t let you return it.

Yeah I think it’s the filter i ordered another filter with a closed top and I’ll see how that is. Also I’m not sure with how my current set up is I definitely hear it a lot while driving but when I’m in neutral and I rev it I don’t hear it like how other people have it. Will see how it sounds with a new filter but when driving I do hear it a lot and it sound very nice. My current car and set up is
2016 340i xdrive manual transmission, I have a tu pump, aluminum charge pipe, catless downpipe, and other mods but that’s about it for engine
