Active Sound / Fake Engine Noise

I have a a 2016 330d xDrive. Is it likely to have the fake engine noise piped in as standard? If so is it possible to code it on or off? I had a 335d xDrive a couple of years ago and it sounded ‘better’ than the 330d (although I did have a V8 RS4 in between).

Could be wrong but thought only the 35d in the f30 series got asd for the diesel engines.

Easy to code out either with BimmerCode or ista if you had it fitted

Yeah 330 didn’t have it, only the 335 - I changed the sound on mine to M4, sounded mean

No no.. it comes from an amplifier, so it’s just making the real noise louder…

That aside, I'm not sure why anyone would want a diesel to sound louder?

Thats why I changed mine to be an M4 in the active sound module - sounded much better
