B58 White smoke out exhaust
So today I went to get my 2016 340i serviced for just regular oil change at the local shop, when they were pulling it in a loud noise then a lot of smoke poured out the exhaust and they said some out the engine bay. From reading on many forums I'm starting to thing it's the pcv diaphragm since I let idle excessive before. Praying it's not turbo related or anything but if so I still have Carvana warranty that will
Cover it but at select spot and need proof of malfunction. Any thoughts on what else the white smoke could be? I'm also having my crank case hose changed due to code it was throwing, maybe could of been that?

Maybe they just spilled some oil and it burned off. Odd that it would just go away if there was an issue.
A turbo usually blows white blue smoke out the exhaust only unless it has an external leak as well.

This was prior to the actual oil change, they were just pulling it into the bay then they Heard a loud noise in the bay following heavy smoke out of it and exhaust but then stopped smoking in bay and only out exhaust until finally dissipating

Unfortunately I was in the front so I didn't hear or see it but they had me come in the back and see the smoke pillowing out, so to be fair I don't know what kind of loud noise it was they just mentioned some sort from the engine bay before the smoke came

PCV makes a loud whining sound when failing along with lots of white smoke. It happens when you idle for too long, it will come back. There is a hole in the plastic diaphram. Careful when removing the cap. You can reuse it but its brittle and cracks easily, i would order a backup kit with the cap just in case.

What are the chances of breaking the cap while taking it off?

If I remember correctly there should be 3 tabs on inside of the edge. That's where you want to pry and be careful. If you get one out then the other 2 will come out easily.

So far I've driven it to and from work just babying it and sat indling for a minute or two and no noise and just slight smoke out back, when starting everytime there seems to be a lot of water or clear liquid leaving the tail pipe decent amount everytime, might just be condensation and I'm overthinking

Found the fix
After taking over the pcv cap it was clear to see it had a nice little rip in it and who would of know that would of caused all this, had ordered a new diaphragm from Amazon and it arrived today so I put it in immediately and after that all has been good. Only thing I didn't do was put gasket sealer on it. Does anyone know that it is a necessity to put on the sealer around the cap or is it fine just snapped into place?
