Idrive keeps restarting

Hi all I have recently updated my maps via USB using the official bmw site and maps and ever since I have done so the Idrive keeps restarting every few minutes and is driving me mad does anyone have a fix for this ?

Is that the push and hold the volume button on the dash until the idrive restarts ?

I did try it last night but will try again to see if it makes a difference, strange thing is on my drive to work this morning it did it twice when I first started out then it was normal for the rest of the journey

It hasn't changed anything still reboots all the time

Is there a way to restore the old maps back on to my system ?

Happened to mine to the point it would hardly switch on. I was convinced it was hardware but downloaded a software update from bmw (just google it and enter vin to check if available) to a memory stick then uploaded to car.

Touch wood it's never happened again since.

I've tried to update nothing seems to change weirdly if I play music through my usb the screen stays on and acts like normal it's very weird

ilevel update sorted it for me.I was trying to load the 2018 maps to an older ilevel (2013).

Hi was this done at a dealer/ Indy or did you do it yourself ?
