Different question about folding door mirrors: in my VWs (and Peugeots prior to that), when the mirrors were folded in, they stopped in until you said otherwise. Great for whizzing along single/1.5 track roads. Hit a main road again, flick switch, out.
When I was last looking at a 3 Series (pre-facelift F3x) I had a demo with these, and over a certain speed they automatically popped out. Does the facelifted F3x have this same problem as well? And if so, is there a way to code *this* function into factory fit foldout mirrors? And the dipping passenger mirror in reverse if you don't spec the electric seats? I was PMing privately to protect the number, but if it's public on eBay then I guess it's ok to put here. Last edited by tjlees; 05-09-2016 at 04:34 PM.. |

Retrofits are expensive, no matter how cheap in relation to the cost of speccing from new. |

You can sell the pair you take off for around £100 each on fleabay, or use them as spares for when some muppet smashes your door mirror - saved me around £200 from the stealers, since most of the parts are common. |

Yeah I thought that after I'd posted, shouldn't have a problem selling the old ones as bound to be plenty of poor sods who've had their's bashed!!

Sup. Sorry for necroing almost 2 year old post. But....
I have a local wrecker selling two F30 mirrors with 5-pin connectors. He has already sold the driver's side door (with the controls) so I don't know if they are powerfolding or not They are both with 5-pin connectors. Taken from the same car. Should they be power folding ones? |
