Newbie questions

Newbie at coding. Reading all the guides.

So I need to do this for every module I'm FDL coding. e.g. HU_NBT, BDC_BODY, KOMBI etc.

“ALWAYS do VO CODING first before doing any FDL coding because it will change everything back to factory settings for whichever folder you have VO Coded. “

So for example: if I’m coding mirrors fold/unfold. I need to do the following:

1. VO code FEM_BODY
2. Then FDL code the following.
3. FEM_BODY 3110 ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN aktiv nicht_aktiv Unfold Mirrors on vehicle unlock via Key Fob or Comfort Access.
4. FEM_BODY 3110 ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN aktiv nicht_aktiv Fold Mirrors when holding lock on Key Fob or Comfort Access.

Thanks for your advice!

I'm also interested in the "best practice" answer. I just coded FDLs as necessary and haven't had any issues, personally.

I'm not 100% sure but VO coding is only if you want to enable or disable some vehicle options like the adaptive high beams..

Correct, Shawn advised me only time VO coding is required if I'm changing FA elements.

Okay, now I need instructions for adding extended Bluetooth. I'll be coding my both cars with Enhanced Bluetooth - 2015 X5 and 2015 320i.

The cheat sheet has everything you need for that it's not as difficult as it seems.

Good luck!
