Only if you go in track or you use to drive fast on mountain roads, otherwise M Perfomance brakes are useless with respect to M Sport brakes.
The drilled and groved discs are better with "fading" after hard use and in wet conditions.

Actually, it's the opposite.

The M Sport Brake Option has "better pads" than the M Performance Brake Kit.

Quote:
M Performance Kit 34116859066 low dust and low feel; a lot of M Performance customers have been put off by the pads that came with this kit - they're dull feeling and totally out of character with what they expected. In this case we recommend using the M Sport pads with more bite.

Rotor size and pad composition matter far more with respect to performance than whether rotors are dimpled/drilled/slotted.

Yes, but if the rotor size is the same, dimpled/drilled/slotted rotors are far better than standard

I wouldn't consider slotted/dimpled rotors as "far" better than standard.

I would even argue that all of this is moot if you're still running original M Performance brake pads. If you aren't using M Sport Brake Option pads or the F80 M3 brake pads, then you haven't fixed the weak link yet.

Do you drive your car on track too? Just to understand what are your experiences

For what concerning to me, I'me ready to install Goodridge Hoese kit and Motul 660 brake oil; then, after my next session on track (provided for the end of april), I will change my brake pads with (I think) Pagid RSL1...
Anyway, the stock M Performance Brake Kit is good enough for 99% of driving situation

Yes, I do "track" my car. I have already done one AutoX event this season and I'm signed up for 2 HPDEs.

I wouldn't bother with the Goodridge brake line kit. The OEM brake lines are sufficient and they are tested extensively as it is a critical component for vehicle safety.

As for brake fluid, the hierachy is as follows:

- ATE Type 200
- RBF600
- Castrol SRF

RBF660 actually has a lower wet boiling point than RBF600 so you may have to bleed the system more frequently.

While Castrol SRF is expensive, you'll probably never boil it at the track so it's one of those "bleed/flush" and forget type of fluids for the entire year. In fact, the wet boiling point of the Castrol SRF is higher than the dry boiling point of many other brake fluids.

I DIYd MPBBK with braided hoses, DOT 5.1 and m4 MP sport pads - epic.

I would agree though that lines, BF and these bona fide upgraded pads would work v well on std m sport brakes too.

What are the part numbers for these parts?

Are these not the OE brake pads for the M3/M4?

Thanks!

Cleared up some of the confusion in this thread:
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1255809

Those part numbers came up on RealOEM but it seems like they're not readily available in the US.

Polo

I read somewhere that m4 MP sport pads were Pagid RS29 rebranded as Bmw parts.
