Best to use clear... As for the material I'm not sure what I had used exactly.

After a ton of searching, I found someone with the skills and a printer large enough to print these out as one piece.

I think it's very even in person. What is the increased brightness mod?

Take a tape measure and measure the length of light being emitted from your car door as it is now.

Installed mine today. Happy with the look, especially combined with the LED LCI a/c trim. Definitely felt overpriced for what you get, though. Ordered them when I was slightly inebriated :

I'd like to see more pictures with the lighted AC trim if you have a chance. In actual use, I really like the overall effect, it feels very batmobile \ stealth bomber to me.

It does feel overpriced as it's just plastic trim at the end of the day. Considering the difficulty I had in finding someone who can make them in 1 piece I think it's a pretty good deal though, especially as there aren't many alternatives.

I also like the guy. I met him when I picked mine up in person. You can tell he just really loves making things and tinkering.

Yes, it's hard for me to justify 4 colorless, lightweight small pieces of plastic for $60. Especially when he didn't create the original design. Gotta be dirt cheap to produce once you have the resources. I rationalized it the same way you did, though. He was responsive and helpful when I messaged him initially.

(iPhone X quality looking poor at night). It's a subtle light that appears brighter than it actually is, in some pics.

I sourced all OEM parts for this. The gloss black LED LCI AC Trim was $50 shipped from a BMW dealer website (search OEM part # 64119358940).
The Y adapter I bought premade from this seller for $34 shipped, who used OEM pins and connectors to create it.
I like the gloss black upgrade over matte in daytime, as well.

Thanks for the details around LCI trim, I was about to buy one with Y adapter for 120$, but ordering the Y adapter separately and Trim separately saved me 30$
