Subframe Drop DIY?

Can anyone tell me how to lower the subframe on a RWD 335i? I tried looking under the car earlier but couldn't figure it out. I just need to lower it enough to gain a few more inches of clearance to re-install my motor mount.

Looks like #3, #4, and #5 are the fasteners that are holding the subframe in place.

Thats what I thought after searching under the car. Me and a friend removed those bolts but nothing happened. Do I have to just pry the frame down a bit because it is stuck or do I have to remove the control arms and stuff also?

You have to unbolt the shocks from the towers .. and watch the brake lines. If you have to go down far you'll want to unbolt the calipers and tie them up somewhere

Go to the Dinan website and download their instructions for the install of sway bars in your car, it has the subframe drop procedure, I used that for my car.

I don't think that's necessary.

I think the OP is talking about the front subframe and not the rear.
