New owner here

Hi all, just purchased a late 2015 335d m sport f31, (collecting it on Friday morning) first ever bmw so looking forward to ownership!

Just wondered if there are any new owner tips / tricks / hints

It’s not a super speced up model as far as I can see, as the low mileage was more important to me, it has business nav, oyster interior and the black anthracite optional interior trim pack and I think that’s it! Lol

Thanks all!!

I have black leather in my Touareg and find that what with our scorching and ever so long lasting British summer times I always end up burning my legs far to often, so decided that for my work car I would get a nice light coloured leather interior

I do need to find some decent seat covers though preferably in a similar colour

Sounds great, enjoy!

The launch control is good fun and setting up the shortcut keys on the Connected Drive is neat; not just limited to your favourite Radio Stations

Tonnes of neat features which will become apparent over time such as keeping unlock pressed on key will roll windows down (and open sunroof if you have it). Long press close should do the reverse and fold mirrors in if they are electric. If your mirrors are electric and you forget to unfold, they automatically unfold above a certain speed (20mph IIRC). You can hover over the number shortcuts above the climate control display to see if any shortcuts are programmed and you can programme in your own. I.e. I have 1 saved to navigate me home at the touch of 1 button. M sport seats include electric side bolster adjustment, the car will coast in eco pro mode above 30mph if you let off the throttle. If you like to wash the car yourself, the mirrors will manually fold backwards so that water escapes and after you switch off the ignition, long holding the wiper stalk up will bring the wipers up in a vertical position so you can push them back, opening up the windscreen for easy cleaning. Brake pad sensors will often go down to read 3k before change and stick there as they recalculate based on driving style. If you want to access the engine bay, you need to pull the bonnet lever twice, your boot can be opened fully or you can open just the upper section (clip behind rear wiper). There is plenty more to learn but its a start

Welcome and congratulations on the new car

My biggest tip would be to start saving because this forum has a knack of discovering all sorts of impossible-to-live-without upgrades and before you know it you'll be in a G21 M340i!

Not unless someone develops some special glasses that filter out the nasty grille and fake tailpipes. It’s never going to be a car you look back at and think - Yes.

Bimmercode and the proper Bluetooth adapter. Makes a great car better.
Rear M Sport diffuser, looks good on the F31.
If it's on run flats and you do a lot of round town, pump the front tyres up to the top pressure setting (38psi) to stop the outer edge of the tyre wearing away.
Put some mesh behind the radiator grilles to help protect the expensive bits from flying stones.
Use Millers diesel additive with every tank of fuel. Double dose for the first 4 tanks in a used car.
Take it for some long drives and get used to it before planting your right foot on the carpet......

Good advice.

I've been the proud owner of a f30 335d for 5 days. On day 2 I found myself fairly sideways exiting a wet roundabout.
