To those that have coded out Adaptive/EDC suspension - Question!

My 2015 330d with Adaptive/EDC suspension is now on 136k and has done most of that sat on the motorway but as others have discovered (did a search) its become a bit clunky and noisy with mileage so because funds are tight at the minute I've just replaced it all with a set of Bilstein B4's and its sooo much better.

So my question is..... Currently I'm using it with the car throwing a warning each time I start it and my Eco/Sport button isn't working BUT if I code it all out using Esys (found a guide) do the Eco and Sport buttons come back to life, obviously without the suspension firming up etc..?

I must say its made a huge difference to feel and noise, feels great even on a budget.

I had EDC delete modules installed rather than code it out.

The driving mode button works fine, but obviously it can now only set the transmission, throttle response and steering weight.

I read that if you code out EDC you cannot code it back on. (hence why some have used delete modules (which are reversible)
someone can confirm I am sure

I reckon you can as you save a current version of your car and you're only turning stuff off so can turn on I'm sure.

Oh I see.

With the cost of a fresh set of adaptive shocks I for one wouldn't bother and instead go for a Bilstein B16 pss10 Komfort coilover kit after reading the reviews.

Even just a fresh set of normal shocks have showed how poor and noisy my adaptives were.

OP, At 136K miles did you replace shocks only or shocks (B4s) and springs?

I don't disagree I had adaptive shocks on my old F31 335xd and did wonder about disabling the EDC if I ever changed them (due to the replacement cost

Just the shocks at the minute. It's sitting ever so slightly higher than before so I might get some lowering springs on there soon.

Lowering springs (with less suspension travel) are better matched with Bilstein B8 shock absorbers. That's why coilovers at the end of day represent a better option.

Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilovers - Comfort edition - are excellent with a slight advantage over KW Street Comfort coilers because Bilstein adjustments controls are on the bottom.
