*laugh* I sniffed around through REALOEM for a bit trying to see if I could find lighted speaker covers etc, but failed. My search fu might have been just weak, not sure. Interesting idea though and LCI style lighting refits like the center console surround are awesome.

Just tried it with the Hi-fi system -- didn't work. The parameters were there, and I set them, and they appeared in the stereo after the coding was done. However, I was not able to select "expanded" -- nothing happened. Also, no equalizer, anywhere.
MOST DISAPPOINTINGLY, Bimmercode wiped out my 8 shortcuts -- fucking dicks. I restored the backup, which undid the "bang and olufsen" options -- but my presets are still all unassigned. This was my first experience with Bimmercode; NOT pleasant so far. Who QAed this thing? Apparently it is tested "in production". Lame. I had to restore my other audio settings as well -- all wiped out. I didn't go into other settings in the head unit, so not sure if everything has been reset, or not. |

Curious: How would it not be a Bimmercode oversight?
They should read the parameters and values of my existing audio settings and re-write them back to the headunit, during the flash. Right? Or, are you saying losing settings is expected behavior when coding? Last edited by natesi; 03-29-2019 at 06:23 PM.. |

I am thinking profile and system configuration are two different things? Bimmercode seems to work on system configurations but never involve any profile setting.
I also notice my side mirrors' position always change (or reset) every time I code the front electronic module. Every time it applies the codes it just wipe the profile setting, which is similar to flashing other electronics (smartphones especially). I haven't flash roms on android lately so I can be wrong on this. Can Bimmercode do a better job? Definitely. Is it technologically possible? Maybe, only if those data are accessible. But to be honest, for $35 dollars Bimmercode does what it is advertised to do, unlocking "hidden" features. |

Congrats on the F36! Too bad I won't be in Dallas until next year (or some time this year for business), or else I would be more than happy to code it for you. |

That's not a Bimmercode problem. One of the first items I coded with E-Sys was removal of the on-screen disclaimer messages. When I did it wiped my audio settings.

Anyone come up with "ideal" EQ settings when flipping to the B&O side of the house? The difference is significantly positive for me, with the bimmertech A1 speakers, and (previous owner) a pretty significant alpine amp in the trunk.
With the reset of everything, EQ is flat down the middle and didn't know if there were +- suggestions for idea setup?

I am using the stock HK speakers, but my current curve is:
100Hz = 0 200Hz = -6 500Hz = -2 1kHz = -1 2kHz = 0 5kHz = +1 10kHz = +2 Treble = +1 Bass = 0 It is a work in progress, but sounds just so much better than my old settings on L7.

The coding of the B&O(6F2A) or B&W(6F1A) means sending a digital profile to the HK(688) via MOST. The profile changes the sound parameters in the OEM amp, from default HK/ProLogic II, to the Bowers and Wilkins parameters or to Bang & Olufsen parameters.
- the F3x has no Bang and Olufsen OEM amp as factory installed in any model whatsoever. Which means that whatever coding to B&O is done to the HK(688) is not designed to support it. That somehow works only means that the HK(688) OEM amp software is common among MOST OEM amp. The B&O OEM amp has discrete front tweeter channels, different center speaker configuration, different speakers, several sound profile selections and about double the power output of the HK(688). - the Bowers and Wilkins system hardware and specs are unknown as it was never implemented in any 3-Series. Only the OEM amp is listed in the ETK without any P/N. - changing the parameters makes the sound different, not optimal to the HK OEM speakers. - this coding is only applicable to MOST OEM amps. HiFi(676) or HK(674) are not MOST. |

Encanto -- You seem particularly knowledgeable regarding amps. Q for you: Do you know if it is possible to get the equalizer working with the hi-fi (676) system? I've searched high and low, but can't seem to find a satisfactory answer on this, except people saying, "no" -- with no real reason or explanation. Thanks, |
