I bought that one with AntiGlare and CarPlay built in. I had also coded the Radio HU with BimmerCode to display the wider fullscreen with splitscreen support. From the OEM Radio with the smaller 6,5" Screen, this is a huge improvement!

Got one from an eBay seller, around £20. Bit steep for a cable but not too bad. Hopefully it is just that as it's a simple and easy fix but you'll know once you've tried the original screen I guess.

Thanks. The only thing putting me off now is it's px6 - much more chance of long term support for the snapdragon chip I feel? (I've already upgraded the screen to wide)

My rear view camera arrived and my head unit is still on its way so I decided to install the camera in advance. All I can say it was a pain in the ass but I got it done. I have a F20 though, it should be easier with F3x models. If you have any questions regarding the installation, let me know!

Now waiting for the head unit to see if it's actually working...

I just installed my new android 9.0 snapdragon 4g lte model with backup camera. I have been having difficulties getting signal from my sim card. I am mainly using android auto now since setting up a hotspot connection takes too much time. Otherwise, its a huge improvement from my 6.5" without back up camera.

do you know how to enter in android recovery mode or reset android to factory? My unit doesnt recognize the lockscreen pin and I'm locked out.

I also printed a Dock for my IPhone X to get connected easily and not fiddeling around with loose cables. The included Carplay function works very well also with the latest Beta of iOS 13

The 4G LTE Octacore is under "color" option. About $50 more.

At first, I didn't get any sound from the left speaker at all from the unit but had both sides working with original BMW system. So I had to check wiring and saw 1 pin from the android unit was bent. Not sure if it was like that out of the box or I accidentally bent it during installation. But that fixed it.

No issues other than that stated. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. But if I were to buy it again, might as well buy the version with CarPlay/Android Auto built in since built in 4G doesnt really work. I'm not sure if the other version comes with the snapdragon processor but this unit is smooth. No signs of freezing/loading/jitters with my usage.

I have Bmw f30 2013 and my idrive screen i stuck on bmw it only displays BMW. I researched and it says my head unit is gone. So if i replace my scree with these android screens will it work ?

Hi all, this is easily my favorite thread right now on the whole forum. I'm very interested in purchasing one of these units myself. I'd like to ask a few questions to those who have already got one:

1. Audio quality. Do you notice any difference to the stock BMW sound? Have you tried an android system wide equalizer to tweak the sound (there are many alternatives on the play store)? (The EQ on the stock HK system is basically crap... I'm wondering if the android unit could compensate and even sound better). Looking for input from both PX6 and Snapdragon users...

2. Has anyone by any chance tried the 1920x1080 screen yet? Do you think it would be worth it to go that route vrs the 1280x720 option, or does it not make much difference to the naked eye?

3. Any glaring pain in the ass cons that might not have been mentioned yet?

These are definitely much nicer units than the 8.1 models. Even though I'm an iOS user, only gripe I have is Android auto is still stretched out based on the pics in this thread... Why hasn't anyone fixed that yet? :

Never found a 1920 with snapdragon on it, only px6. I think it would be better to take a snapdragon unit.

Android side should works, but not BMW one if it's dead. It's nothing related to the screen, but to the unit behind the AC control.

so bad... in france we are using these frequencies :

700 MHz (B28)
800 MHz (B20)
1800 MHz (B3)
2100 MHz (B1)
2600 MHz (B7)

Well, I think you can still get a USB dongle and put your SIM card there. Or use mobile hotspot.

Does anyone know how many USB ports does the unit have?
