Mine neither beeps either. But to me I would not call my door shutting sound rather excessive.

The hatch slams shut almost as if in a free fall last few inches and does not get pulled in at any stage towards the end. I guess I don't find the noise too annoying but it is certainly noticeable, especially in enclosed spaces/garages. About the beeping: perhaps it is some setting in the iDrive that leads to this behavior. I'll have to check.

However my new GT, October 2015 335i Luxury, also with comfort access, does indeed beep, depending on how I close the hatch. If I close the hatch using either button on the hatch itself - no beep. If I close the hatch using the comfort access foot waving under the rear valance thing, then it does beep - twice ! Exactly as per page 42 of my Owners Manual - 'The warning indicator flashes and a warning signal sounds before the tailgate closes'. Hope this clarifies.

Makes sense. You might swipe your foot inadvertently, so a warning beep would be called for. A push on the fob or hatch isn't likely to be inadvertent.

I always use the lock button on the hatch. Dont know if the swipe will also lock the car. If it does i will be doing that from now on. It makes sense why it beeps i just thought they could have made it beep all the time instead of only for certain actions.

I'm not sure whether you use Comfort Access Bill, but personally I would have thought that it was more likely that the button on your fob was inadvertently operated when you have it in your pocket, than a 'swipe' with your foot. The Comfort Access operation of the hatch requires a definite 'fore & aft' movement of your foot under the rear valance, not an inadvertent swipe. Nothing more to add really, the operation of the hatch on my car works perfectly in whichever way I choose to use, and that's all that matters.
