Yah, I'm sure a hybrid model would make more power. I'll concede from a logical standpoint, a hybrid would be a good idea. I guess it's my heart saying no to the hybrid and my brain saying yes. How cheesy lol. Just from a heritage perspective, the M5 should have a V8 and the M3 should have a straight six. And I know the M5 started with a straight six and the M3 with a 4 banger, I don't really care though, I like it the way it is.

E90 M3 had the V8 as well. Screw it. V12 or nothing.

Still in the works though of getting a custom tune except my datalogging isn't working.

Can you shoot me a PM with that? I'm assuming this if for guys wanting higher E85 mixes? E30 shouldn't have any issues.

So im running the bm3 stage 2 93 AGG tune and it says im supposed to be hitting 22.44psi but highest im getting over a week of driving is 20.1psi. I noticed this before i put the DV+ in this last weekend. I thought i would go over everything when i put the DV+ in to make sure i didnt have boost leaks anywhere. Everything was sealed up nicely so no boost leaks. So after i put the DV+ in i was still getting the same results...20.1psi is the highest im hitting and its saying the target i should be hitting is 22.44psi. So i flashed the car back to stock on the bm3. Turned my JB4 stage 2 back to map 2, which produces 23psi. So after a few pulls this morning i was hitting 23psi no problem on the JB4 map 2. Any ideas why im only getting 20.1psi on the bm3 stage 2 93 AGG tune? if not ill have to contact PTF and give them some of my logs to see whats going on.

You might have to ask them. My target on the 91 variant is 20.1. Lower than what I want, but I'm not complaining because I'm going custom. does seem lower than my 23psi target late last year

Make sure you look at the MAP(psi) reading because that's your actual boost numbers. My stage 2 92 maxes out at a lil over 21 but averages around 20ish

i am looking at the actual PSI rating, that was why i was questioning whether there was a boost leak or something. Target is 22.44 but only maxing out at 20.1psi. After talking to PTF they explained why it works the way it does and that it will never hit 22.44 even though thats in their programming. Its all good though as i am having 2 custom tunes made. Ill make a little higher boost and ill have a progressive meth setup using the jb4 for 1 tune. The other tune will just be for daily fun without meth. Then when i just wanna run a mild tune ill stick with the PTF 93 stage 2 AGG tune.

I was looking into getting a custom tune as well but didn't know how much it would cost. Do you know who's doing your tune and how much it's going to cost?

Not to sweep in on his answers, but I think average cost is about $200-$300. I'm personally getting mine done by HCP (Halim).

Ahhh okay that's not too bad. You think it's worth it on stock turbo though? Will it really be much different than the stage 2?

I would say only go custom if you're gonna go E. You could milk the turbo some more on a custom with just gas as well, but you encroach the turbo/engine max. I ran 23PSI for about 15k and when we went to put in the DV+, noticed a leak. Now, that could have been due to turbo age (85k~ at that point), but I'm sure the 23psi (24psi max) played a factor into it. That's why I suggest E if it's available in your area, as you won't need to push boost that high and can milk the car for more hp.

I have an E85 station right near my house maybe I'll have a custom e30 tune done soon, sounds pretty nice.

Oh definitely. There are plans for it, but us N20 guys are on the backend for the more customized maps due to the platform limitations. We gotta be patient and let the N55/S55 guys get all their maps first haha.

I'm on a bigger turbo, which is why I'm going custom with an E tune. If you're stock turbo and don't mind waiting, it'll get there for sure.

Wait. That's BPC on the East Coast right? If so, they turned me away from tuning because they hadn't done one and didn't want to do it without a dyno.

I believe so yes I honestly just asked if they provided a e30 tune and well they gave me the price and well the tune works really good at first had some problem with the torque limiter but just now got a revised tune and shifts great honestly shifts a little faster I couldn't get CPA or any of the other tuning company's to respond back besides Twisted tuning, tuning tech fs, and Morendi but didn't respond after a while so I contacted BPC lol.

Damn... Meh, oh well lol. I'll be going through Halim here soon since he's over the hump with BM3. Hoping to get 350-380whp after these bolts are in.
