The Cilajet is not cancelable so i have to to keep it.
good thing there is a bunch of car owner that used it and they happy with the result.
so i will either replace the easy care with The BMW wheel and tire insurance if it is cheaper , or
I will just replace the RFT that came with the car with a regular tire and save the OEM till i return the car in end of the lease , I hope that won't void the warranty on the car.
and for the MF it's late now to change the deal .... lesson learned... next time i will do my home work before i go to the dealer.
Don't worry, it's not a terrible deal. You will not void the warranty by switching to a non RFT. No worries there and that's a good idea to switchthe tires.

If the insurance covers cosmetic then it's not that bad of a deal. Just check to make sure there is no deductible or limit on the number of claims.

Awesome thread, I read through the entire thing just now, twice in fact. I've never leased a vehicle before. Let's say I go in to a dealer to lease a car, when and how do I ask for the money factor? Do I just bluntly ask, "What is the money factor for this lease"?

Is there a minimum that is acceptable for the residual? Most of the examples in the thread are in the 60% range, what if they give you a 50% or a 40% residual? Also, is there a max as well?

On page 7 Monaco was offered a 6 payment pull ahead and had 8-9 payments left on the lease. He pays the 2-3 payments and the remaining 6 are forgiven. But why would this work better for if he ordered a car versus picking one off the lot?

Thanks in advance.

The residual is fixed by BMW, so the dealer cannot change that. But the MF has a base rate set by BMW (now .00130) and the dealer can bump that up by up to for points (to .00170) for extra profit. So yes, it is okay to just politely ask what the MF and residual are right up front, but you would be wise to know the MF ahead of time so you know if they are bumping it up for extra profit, then you have the option to negotiate the MF down to the base rate. I have fund the Edmunds forums is a good source for the MF and residuals.

The pull ahead offers you mention often have a time line, so ordering a car and waiting for delivery may put you outside the window the pull ahead is good for. Also, some of the pull ahead offers are for in stock cars only.

Awesome, thanks for answering. So since the residual is fixed, let's say the residual is 63% for a m3, it's 63% for every m3 in my state or is it for every m3 in the nation, irregardless of which dealer I'm at?

Ok, now I get the why that's an advantage. Thanks for the explanation.

Does anyone have any examples of awesome deals they got for some 2 series they could share?

It is set by BMWNA, and would be the same at any dealer.

This would be my first BMW. We are looking to lease a 328xi sedan. No money down $459 a month. Money factor is .0017% and residual is $28,349 or 65% of $43,615. Is this a good deal? Trying to see if I can get them to come down on the price.

Well first congrats on the car and welcome to the forum.

I would first tell you the dealer is marking up the MF. 0.0017 is the maximum rate as 0.0013 is the base rate right now. The base rate is set by BMWFS and the dealer is tacking on the maximum allowed additional amount. As long as you have good credit I would not sign until they give you the base rate.

The base rate can change every month so its a good idea to check this forum for the new rate or look at Edmunds.com as they should have it also.

As for the negotiated price, I can't tell you unless I know what the MSRP is. You can also check the compare your deals thread in this same section and you will get a good idea how much the total price should be.

Good luck

Sorry, I should have caught that. What I meant to ask is what price did you get from the dealer? If they want you to pay sticker, don't sign. You should be able to get 1-2k over invoice (before any incentives) without much effort.

That is the sticker. How do you figure out what invoice is? Again thank you for the great information.

There is a price guide in this section. It may have the invoice pricing. If not just go to Edmund's or truecar. Put in your options and it will give you the invoice price as well as what most are paying in your area. Do not pay sticker. Don't let the dealer trick you into thinking leases pay sticker. You negotiate the price just like a purchase.
Get the app leasematic it's on Android and Apple. It's great and written by a forum member.

If you multiply MSRP times .93 it will get you very close (within $100 either way) of invoice.

i have a question about the taxes:

I leased my car and registered it to NY....i had to pay the 8.8% tax on the monthly payment....i decided to pay that all upfront (not sure why i did that).

I live in NJ now, if I register the car to my NJ address, (7% sales tax)...can i request a refund on the difference? or is it gone because i paid upfront?

I do not know for sure and sounds like a question you really want to ask an accountant. Since the states are neighbors, you may be able to find out info on the DMV sites of either state. I would think you should be able to request a refund from NY, but probably only after you prove you will be paying the NJ tax.

Leasing questions:

1) Honda provides a $1500 credit for miles and minor damage (dings, scratches) if leasing another vehicle through them. Does BMW do something similar or do you get nickled and dimed for everything?

2) How much wear and tear is allowed on the floor mats? Should/must I invest in a set of all-weathers (e.g. WeatherTec)?

3) If I end up needing a new set of tires, does it have to be the same exact model as the factory install?

BMW is generally very lenient when it comes to lease returns, especially if your buying/leasing another BMW. They have a whole series of videos on BMWUSA about what type of damage is acceptable.
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...tionFlash.aspx

Floor mats are cheaper than all weather mats so it doesn't matter. At worst you will be charged for a new set, but probably not.

Tires need to be of similar performance type and speed rating, not the same exact manufacturer and model.
The biggest problem people run into is RFT. If your car came with them, then the car has to be returned with them.

I just looked at the BMW lease inspection form for my 2014 335i I turned in a couple weeks ago and they don't even have floor mats on the checklist, so I am thinking you would be okay with no mats at all. Have not tested this myself though.
