I'm about to order 2x of that part #14 ... I'm just not sure how they mount. It'd be great if a 2018 person could look at them and send some pics of these parts. I'm wondering if part 7 8 or 9 is different.
The fact that they snuck those in late in the model is to me indicative of an 'oops' .. I think if you explained it correctly they'd install those for free / replace rad for free due to initial oversight in design. |

Looks too much like this 1992 Pontiac Grand Am. I'd rather take my chances with a rock. A+ for effort though

update... just got back from dealer here are attach pics. the quote is $1800,$500 of that is additional parts that arent on the car right now which include the rock guard cover and pieces that go along with that. The rad can come easily but the additional parts will take weeks from Germany as they are back ordered. kinda funny how BMW overlooked this for 3 series before 2018 models and the fact that the rock guard covers arent available means this issue is occurring worldwide. |

I like it - true functional mod that isn't just an imitation of an option. I would do flat black for mine...

I park my car in my garage, backed in. The driveway goes up a hill, so walking up that hill with the garage door open I'd get an eye level view of the grill. It bugged me being able to see right through the stock grill to the radiator, both from the standpoint of how it looked and from the realization that the stock grill didn't give the radiator protection from anything smaller than a golf ball. The grille I put in fixed both those issues. I prefer the look of chrome, but black would work too, though I'd rather black chrome than flat black.

When I first saw the mod for the grill, I thought of the Bentley too and liked it.
Sort of a nod to the solution used by Bentley to resolve the same issue. |

It's not exactly a new idea.
As much as I like BMW for the life of me I can't figure why they use something that's supposed to protect the radiator that offers so little protection. |

Dear BMW I have a problem. My F30 has PWG, NBT, Xenons, Bulb Taillights, an analog Instrument Cluster and IHKA. Clearly you fucked up and later realized this as you re-engineered all these items. When can I schedule my free replacements as per gsehgal29 because you clearly made a mistake when you installed all these parts only to improve them. Thank you for your assistance. PS. Almost forgot, I need radiator protection as well. PPS. Still waiting for the free re-engineered Charge Pipe. |

I realize this might surprise you but cars companies constantly change their cars specs and do not retrofit unless it's a matter of life and death....and even then usually only if ordered by a US Court to do so. |

Out here in Canada the consumers get shafted on everything. Goods and services are massively inflated compared to the us. Any US supreme court ruling doesn't mean squat here. The government and auto manufacturers have a broken relationship if a recall happens in the us 99.9 % it wont reach here or it will take years. In the end its the customers who have to eat the cost. Dont be so narrow minded. |
