EVO 2018-1

Has everyone's idrive updated to the 2018-1 for EVO? Mine hasn't and although I can do using a USB I want to prove if the OTA is working. I have got it on my connected drive and it has always updated in the past but not so far.

Anyone else had this problem?

I went down the USB route after 2017-4 wouldn’t OTA for mine but was a bit concerned on 2018-1 after reading some of the guys had issues, but tbh the iDrive just asked if ok to download the file & it all uploaded whilst driving along. The file seemed quite large so maybe OTA won’t download files that large

However I’m no expert so could be proved wrong

No update via ota.. Vorph updated mine via usb. Large file took about 10 - 15 minutes but works fine.

They do seem to stagger the OTA updates, I guess so their servers don't get overloaded with every BMW downloading it at the same time
