BMW F31 330d X Drive.

We have been looking for a new car for the wife for a couple of months and bought this yesterday.

She really likes my F20 125i with the 8sp ZF gearbox, and loves the driving position, however she didn't want the M Sport seats.

So we had narrowed it down to a 3 series GT or the Touring. We found this at a local dealer and did a great deal PX-ing her Mondeo.

It is a 2014 330d X Drive Touring, in Luxury trim with 20k miles on the clock.

The colour is Imperial Blue Metallic, which has a fair bit of flake pop.

It is in really good condition, so I am looking forward to giving it a good going over. It is still under BMW warranty and has the service pack until 2019.

These are the dealer photographs.

On the test drive it feels nice and tight and traction of the line with 4 wheel drive is immense and feels Massively quicker than my F20 125i, and that is no slouch.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great, decent colour and spec, she won't be disappointed with it at might though

The Tourer is a really nice car to drive and hugely versatile, coupled with the Xdrive side of things it's a go anywhere car, great for trips in to country, holidays, forests etc.

Being good here, never mentioned the wood

Another touring in the best engine (!?!???).

You won't be disappointed! A roof box may be a good investment for family holidays as the family gets older!

Very refreshing to see a non M Sport car and I think the colour combo and interior look really nice. Wood goes with the rest of the car as its not trying to be a sport-tastic machine, just a nice classy tourer.

X drive with that engine is a great combination. Only the Luddites and flat earth society would disagree.

I'm guessing that colour is a standard colour as I've not seen it (all be it with my blinkered tiny M brain)?

If it's for your Doris, try and convince her she needs a track spec Lotus or a replica AC Cobra?

F31 330xd M Sport owner here. Moved from a E91 335d and it's a big jump in terms of interior quality and handling and almost as quick as the old 335d.

Just driven it across France to Val d'isere and it didn't miss a beat. Great cars, enjoy!

I think the ZF8 is probably responsible for the pace of the newer 330d being similar to the old 335d. It is a fantastic gearbox. I agree about interior quality too - for me the E9x and E6x were just too crap to even consider so I skipped a generation of BMWs. I thought that the E9x handled OK though, but I couldn't see past the other weaknesses.

I didn't think the interior quality was bad on the E91 (I've had a couple of E60s too), it's just that the F3x is so much better.

Saying that I have an E39 M5 too and still love how well that was put together. That is certainly better than the E60.

Nice, congrats, echo the comments trying to clean those wheels!

Yep, e39s were solid, wasn't a fan of the e60s, but e90s brought it back and f30s are nicer again, still alittle flimsy/plastic'ky in places though..

I had a couple of E39s as well - a 540i and an M5, so perhaps the E6x/E9x just couldn't live up to that.

Apart from the interior, I still remember taking an E60 530d for a test drive shortly after launch in 2003 which was my first experience of runflats. I changed lanes, going over some cat's eyes and from the sound and shock which travelled through the car, it felt like I had just driven over a low brick wall.

I skipped the entire generation, and waited for the F10, by which time runflats were no longer made out of concrete.

Nice car
I have a saloon 328i in Luxury trim and I like the wood
The wheels (same as my style 416 I think) do take a while to clean though.

Great car and a great engine - I'm sure you'll love it. The Luxury has a more understated look overall than the M Sport cars, though passengers will surely comment on the 'BMW Luxury' lettering on the front door sills. The wheels are standard fit for a Luxury, and some dislike them. I liked them and didn't mind the extra time spent cleaning them at all!

Yup. About to sell them as I've just bought the M braking system and the 17 inch wheels won't fit over them.
