Fair enough and agreed. Stock exhaust is definitely very quiet. Wasn't trying to knock OP...

As Im reading through the thread getting excited to hear about the Wagner Catted DP... finally I got to the axle back comment (and cost) and had to chime in!

Im sure you wont be disappointed once you get it installed. I know Toronto/Montreal are expensive cities (Im from upstate NY)... shouldnt pay more than $200 Canadian total to get this welded on / installed. Honestly should be $100 but trying to be realistic!

Good choice picking Wagner
I've been researching downpipes for the N20 and I see this statement a lot. I currently have a JB4 and am running Map 1 with no other mods. If I add a downpipe would I expect to see 25hp more than my JB4 alone on Map 1 or would the extra kick in the pants be tied to the fact that I could run more boost on Map 2?

I have read a lot of post to suggest even with a downpipe, sticking with map 1 is the best for daily driving.

To get max gains, you need to put the JB4 on map 2.
As long as you have the right mods and using the correct fuel, map 2 will be as reliable as map 1

Mike, sorry if I'm slow on the uptake. If I understand correctly, I can expect up to 25 more horsepower from my current setup (JB4 Map 1) by installing a catless downpipe (I'm planning on keeping the rest of the exhaust stock to gauge the sound) and running Map 2 on 93 octane?

I'm also planning to install a CAI but that I guess that is just for the woosh, as I have read it will not help the power.

Yes adding downpipe and going from map 1 to map 2 will give you these gains.

Intake adds some power as dyno shows but ~5 HP is not something you will ever notice

Lets say intercooler, catless DP and JB4 map 2. What are we seeing to the wheels on an N20?

I was told Wagner doesn't fit the N20 so I bought the ER catted which I really like. Nice power gain across the range. Not a ton but enough to feel it. Note that it does throw an immediate CEL so a spacer is needed.

Hi guys, am also looking to get a catted DP in a couple of months (Wagner or ER)... Personally don't like the noise from the catless DP's.

For now, I'm running Map 2 JB4 on a stock N20 428i. The only 'mods' that i have is a BMC drop-in filter, upgraded charge / boost pipes and an axle back Remus exhaust. Car runs on Euro 100 RON / 95.5 AKI all the time.

Is it wise of me to runt he car on Map 2 on almost stock conditions? Or is it just plain stupidity on my part. Thanks!

I don't have JB4, but I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea... at all. I believe at least a dp is required to run map 2.

probably about 260? just a guess, but I think that'd be about right.
