BMW themselves do a very similar one - folds away electronically behind the bumper so it can't be seen when not in use. Bit of a scary price though (in the UK at least) "starting from £1,046" ($1,677).

yes this is the BMW one. I am working on getting it shipped over right now.

westfalia makes them for BMW oem but they wont sell to me direct and bmw usa wont sell to me either

I have the westfalia manually removable one (see westfalia website). BMW only fits Westfalia ex works, mine was retrofitted. I only put garden cuttings in the trailer, and I'm considering a <1800 lbs braked trailer for up to two bikes

I like to keep the car light, so 10+lbs of mostly un-needed mass using an electric motor is not for me.
