340i MPPK & Sound Kit available from 11/2015

I haven't seen any info about the B58 M Performance Power Kit on here so decided to make a new thread.

This info comes from a German BMW forum and the German BMW website. Acceleration times and pricing are not there yet. The 340i MPPK and exhaust should be available from 11/2015.

Specs:
  • 265 kW/355 hp/360 PS
  • 480 Nm/354 ft lb (6MT)
  • 500 Nm/369 ft lb (8AT)
  • modified ECU

The M Performance exhaust is valve-controlled.

So, you think it'll include that mid-pipe too?

This may be a stupid question. But why does the manual mppk get less torque?

The automatic transmission has a higher torque rating than the manual transmission. Thats how it is for the mppk for the 335i as well.

Look very much like something Akrapovic delivers.... Not a bad thing though!

That would be very interesting but I doubt I'd be able to shift fast enough if you have the flappy paddles lol. You'd probably eat me up in a race lol

Doubtful. That would be more torque and only 10 less HP than an M2

That's why I'm surprised the M2 is "only" 365hp. I thought 380-385 would have been more of a separater from the M235i. But what do I know....

Does anyone have any further detail about the release of the exhaust / power kit? My car is due late this month and would definitely like it sorted before I pick the car up.

That's nearly as much as an M2...seems pointless to get an M2!

The BMW video showed the M2 at 370HP. That said it is also lighter than the standard 2 series and will be sold to be track ready.

For the same reason some standard model BMW owners increase their HP/TQ close to or above that of the ///M and then stick on ///M badges and declare they now have a car that is a ///M is just silly. The ///M is tested, engineered, and designed to produce a certain feel to how the car drives and performs and its parts in most cases are not the standard parts on the regular car, at least not the ones that matter. Could you take a standard model and change parts both inside and out and make it look like an ///M and meet some of the same spec'd numbers as the ///M ? Sure you could, but that car would still not be an ///M and it sure wouldn't carry the same warranty as an ///M. It would be an ///Mwannabe

Besides that MPE for the 40i has dual tips, not the quads of the M2 and who doesn't love quad tips on their performance machine.
