I remember that offer and it defo was for a mech or quartz but not smart watch.

Did you manage any discount?
I ended up going for black, although I had to wait for it as the black was not on sale at the time. The blue was very 'beach' and casual for me so I wanted something that I felt I could wear with anything and black it was.

New month, new piece.
This one was not on my radar at the time but i was going to have a squint at a Montblanc Classique Star as I thought it offered decent value for the outlay. Anyway as I went in after the usual chat with the SA by the window I saw this and right away I really liked it. Small independent, limited production, in house movement, silicon escapement and that rather lovely dial for a less than the MB, what's not to love?

Not really in the same league most of the stuff on here, but finally got this repaired. Was a present from my parents 30 odd years ago, and I wore it regularly until a couple of years ago, when it packed up.

Yes, although I understand it might be composite rather than a single lump. It even has a few small chips out of it, acquired through the years

Anybody know a decent place for aftermarket Tag watch straps, I love the croc leather and ordered mine with it rather than the chain but mine is now smelling like something has died, I do have an aftermarket perforated strap but the clasp is loose on it so needs adjusting all the time, I’ve reverted back to the original but it stinks!

You should be able to give your strap a good clean. Check YouTube for instructions.

So my first watch I bought when I got my first promotion has packed in. Not worth a lot, sentimental though. Anyone know an independent repairer I can send it to ? It’s too old for citizen official repairers

New acquisition, G-SHOCK GMW B5000c-1er (birthday gift from my lovely wife! ). Thought I'd take the opportunity to finally swap over the strap on my bb S&G, loving this look.

New acquisition for me. Seagull 1963 reissue.
No idea how it's going to go, but it was well worth a go.

If you've not seen it before, it's based on a Venus 175 chronograph movement, which Seagull bought the rights to back in the 60s IIRC. So servicing and repair should be easy on that basis. That said, at only £150 for the watch, it's probably cheaper to replace if it breaks down.

It's a handsome piece and this one has the sapphire front (I did order the double domed acrylic, but that's the danger of dealing with China I guess). The real allure is the movement though.

Pics, because that's what we all like...

Very nice Tudor ...Was the orignal strap a braclet?

It was yes, the steel with gold centres. It's really nice, dresses the watch up in my opinion which makes it more of an occasion watch. But COVID times and all it's nice to make it a bit more versatile with the brown leather.
