Well got the differnet model screen its works, but seems to be only half the screen.... when the boot up screen comes it is the whole screen. I have changed the two settings too
HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

Any Suggestions?

what hu do you have? do you have nav? what type of nav?

It is the Business Nav, think it wont support 8.8 after all. So NBT upgrade may be my only option

yup, im pretty sure at this point business nav can't be retrofit properly

Hello, does your car have iDrive-4 or iDrive-5?

Screen part number ending in 2626 is for nbt Evo iDrive-5. If you have nbt or nbt Evo iDrive-4 7453 is the screen you need (I have a pristine screen ending in 7453 for sale if you need one).

Original 6.5" display:

Replacement 8.8" display:

Only thing I needed to code was:
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display (from schmales)

Resolution was set, as per default, to:
HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 10.25_1280x480

Hey all,

I just wanted to share my experience with the installation.

Quick specs:

2016 F31, built 09.2015
HU: NBT/Entrynav with business navigation

Original 6.5" display:
9322120

Replacement 8.8" display:
9387453

Hardware installation was very quick and easy.

Coding part was a bit more tricky. I initially used Bimmercode with ENET cable to code:

HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display (from schmales)
HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480

After coding, black screen. Tried to go back via the backup files and tried coding again. Got the screen up and running, but not full screen only one side




I then took a quick crash course in E-SYS Hoked up my laptop with E-SYS and looked at the coding. Both codings was enabled when I looked through E-SYS.
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display
HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480

I then coded all back to factory settings with 6.5" size and schmales_display through E-SYS. Turned everything on and black screen. Coded it again through E-SYS to 8.8" size and breites display. Everything worked liked supposed to and looks awesome

So, my experience is Bimmercode didn't do the proper coding, why I don't know?

Screen has nothing to do with ConnectedDrive services. Those services are driven by your headunit present behind the radio controls.

Just think of it like this your headunit is the CPU and your screen is a monitor

Can I ask a question.
Some older screens are being sold with the cable. Some come with a cable that is split at the Head unit end into the video signal plug and power plug. On the screen side they are combined together into one plug.

If I have a head-unit with the combined plug only, will the screen work?

I have a super weird issue. My 228i 2015 model came with BMW LK CID 8.8 made by Kyocera, part number 938103902. I am looking to replace it as it had bubbling on the glass.

I bought one from ebay BMW LK CID 8.8 part number 938754702 which looks identical just has different part numbers.

The new one says no signal when plugged in. I transferred the board over inside the unit, and it is just black display.

Any ideas what to check next?

Based on my understanding, "No Signal" message indicates wrong voltage supplied to screen. Since you mentioned that you swapped the circuit board, I believe that problem is solved. Blank screen could be coding problem.

Got it sorted out with help from Steve at code my bimmer.

the part that I bought was a ID5 from a 2017 2 series. I need an ID4 NBT EVO unit. Its a hardware issue due to voltage and apix and resolution. Swapping the board didnt fix it even though I hoped it would

Hi gurus.

I have LCI F34 320i GT from 11/2016.
It has 6,5" screen without navigation.

I ordered LCI screen 9387453, but for me was sent even newer 0709339 which is touch.
Other problem is that actually I do not understand, what is my headunit. Bimmercode shows HU_NBT. Is this same as HU_ENTRYNAV?

Anyways,
I installed it, coded with Bimmercode + Veepak these two famous lines...
HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

...and only thing I got was red "NO SIGNAL" message on new screen?

Switched on/off/on - no change.

So questions:
1. What is HU_NBT ? Is it different unit than HU_ENTRYNAV and is so shitty that cannot accept any better display?
2. Would LCI screen 9387453 work with that?
3. Or is it possible that this newer touch 8.8 display cannot work with that? (different voltage, protocol, etc maybe problem?)

I switched back old 6.5" and restored old coding and old display works.

One picture shows all options what bimmercode gives when I go into Headunit menu. Maybe someone can figure from this, what headunit I acutally have?
