430d exhaust legality/potential problems
So I had a question about a DPF-back exhaust system that will probably be easily answered by somebody more knowledgeable than me;
If this part of the exhaust is removed and replaced with a straight pipe will it pass an MOT and will it need any modification/tuning/cause any running problems at all? |

This is one of those cases where you might want to ask in the region specific forum to get an educated and swifter answer.
In the US we don’t have MOT, and didn’t get the 3.0 diesel either. Shoot most places don’t have emissions or safety inspections anymore.

Short answer from a 30d owner in the UK...no, it won't fail an MOT as long as the DPF remains intact.
The presence of the DPF keeps the exhaust note and noise levels suppressed, so neither of those will be a problem if you remove the back box.
