MPPK lower air box vs AFE scoop?

So I am trying to figure out if doing the mppk airbox mod would be worth it.
2015 335i Xdrive
VRSF FMIC, Catless downpipe, maybe CP(not sure what brand the CP is guy before me installed it)
MST v2 inlet. -> that one bolt made me want to cry
AFE scoop and filter
MHD stage 2+ 93 tune + XHP Stage 3 Flash

I think this is the last mod I have planned. From what I understand the point of the MPPK mod is to get more air. Do you think the AFE scoop accomplishes the same thing or am I missing something with the MPPK mod? I saw the Jeremyman post where he tested it out and he talked about how felt more instantaneous throttle response and lower MDGC%. Even though I feel like I have good throttle response I have no better reference point. I also thought the shifting was good to till I got XHP flash. Thoughts?

Logs with current set up:

I would do it and ditch the AFE scoop. The AFE scoop just has a tendency to force more debris into the airbox IMO. It also does not increase the total area available to actually bring air into the box. Unless you are tracking the car where you have some ram air effect at constant speed the MPPK mod should be better, especially when talking about response from a stop/low speed.

I have both, I take the sign of dirt that it's directing more air into the box, but I have the Evolve Scoop.

Lol makes sense. I’ll test both out and see how it works out.

Afe scoop works however there is a part number that allows for a shield in the spot we're the air flows into to reduce/eliminate big debris. Otherwise normally the car would suck that up anyway. $50 is a cheap way to get a "ram air intake"

Wouldn’t bother with the shield, that’s why there is an air filter.

The plastic mesh "screen" is OEM... it doesnt do anything but stop huge pieces like rocks. I wouldnt run the scoop unless i was tracking

Not saying anything is wrong with it, just saying the cost/benefit doesnt make sense to me for anything except sustained high speeds.

Before I go cut a hole in my airbox I just thought of something. I live in Texas and my IAT already struggling would the mppk mod make it worse? Also, I seem to only get 320 MAF g/s peak while ive seen others with 340 g/s. Would the mppk mod help with that?

It won't make it worse.

It might?

Based on all my testing the IC is really what determines IATs, the temperature at the intake doesnt really matter (within reason)

Ok cool thank you. I regret not buying the 6.5” vrsf intercooler now. I don’t think the 5” can keep up with all the heat.

Well never got a chance to test it out. Someone ran a red and hit me so hard the car got pushed across a lane and I got sandwiched between two cars. Good news solid car for car crashes. Walked out with only a bruised knee
