Just checked. No delay when changing from the phone, stereo or idrive knob.

Certainly you've tried another phone to see if the issue persists, yes?

Cant be as i tried from Spotify also and youtube same thing soon as you press play it plays but takes 4 seconds until the sound is herd but thw video or song is being played
I have tried a different iphone on the latest ios to There is no delay when carplay is off and tunes are played via the usb But when wireless carplay is on theres the delay imagine trying to skip songs you have to wait least 4 seconds each time you want to skip songs yes you can see it on the display and what not but when using navigation and whats not its harder and u just want to hear the next song quickly or when parked you want to watch a video But the lips is not in sync with the audio |

Not a 5 sec delay... I notice maybe 0.5 to about 1 sec delay... it thing its just the Bluetooth on the car. I don't think BMW Bluetooth is up to date. Bluetooth is current version of 5.0. Our car probably have 2.0

Spotify and Youtube are streaming services, no indexing required, so they start quickly. Problem goes away with USB connection because even obsolete USB 2.0's data rate is many times that of BT. Phone contacts aren't available immediately either, but once they show up, they're available immediately. |

I get the indexing but this phone has been used for long time in the car and the songs have not even been updated for long Time so its all indexed
Also when i turn off carplay and just connect Bluetooth audio The delay is only like 0.5 second |

Clearly you don't get the indexing. The system doesn't remember the tunes on your phone, it surveys your phone EVERY time you disconnect and reconnect. The issue may not be indexing, but the reported symptoms do seem to fit. How many tunes on your phone?

My iphone is using wifi for carplay. I updated my idrive last month and my iphone whenever they had the last update.
It isn’t instantaneous, there is a half second delay but that’s how it has been. My daughter’s subaru has carplay via usb cable and it has the same 0.5 sec delay. We’re both using spotify. We don’t have music on our phones. 2018 bmw 430i f33 nbt evo 2020 subaru impeza I just go to bmw’s website and punch my vin in and it tells me if it needs an update |

This seems to have been an issue with iOS and it was fixed with iOS 14, as I haven't had the issue since.

I’m still having this issue
The only thing that I can tell is that I had to install the wireless antennae aftermarket. I used the super popular (not remembering at the moment) site where you can buy the full screen CarPlay unlock integration and got that all setup through the special cable and windows laptop.
Here is my software currently: VIN 0z00269 Telephone: TB-007.030.001 Media: MB-007.030.001 For me, (I have timed it) is consistently a 2 second delay, almost exactly. Doesn’t matter what app, what function, anything. There is a 2 second delay for audio to respond through the car. I can change the song, YouTube, TikTok, anything, and the audio is two seconds behind every time. Anyone else have any ideas on this one? Thank you. |
