Hi! Has anyone done this retrofit? G30 screen on F30, with NBT (non evo) navigation system? If so, did it require some wiring changes, dash cutting or something else? Do you have some photos of the final result?

There are plenty of threads on retrofitting a 10.25" CID to a F3x.

But not the 10.25 cid from the 5 series G30... only from the F15 (with the silver edge around the screen)

But it wouldn't be as nice as the G30 edge to edge glass... no one tried to retrofit it?

I'm sure it could be done but MAJOR work would need to be done on CID, Plastic on the rear of the CID, dash surface and under the dash.

It's a M5 F90 Steering Wheel on a F30. The shifter shows it's not a F8x.

Essentially.

I would have taken the F15 screen and painted the silver surround blue to match your trim and tie it all in, plus avoiding the other hassles.

For clarification, the silver trim can be removed and painted any color to match your trim....blue, black, coral red....whatever.

That would make it better for sure... and probably it's 100% compatible with my idrive4 nbt

another successful g30 screen on f30 retrofit

I tried retrofiting this screen with no success. Using esys I coded 3005 DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG>CID_DISPLAY_RES to 1440x540 and 3005 DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG>CID_DISPLAY_SIZE to 10.25. The screen stays blank and changing the CID_COM_MODE to SPI makes it turn on but with a no signal on the display. My headunit is an nbtevo2.

Thanks I just tried it, I still get a blank screen. when I switched cid_com_mode to spi it shows no signal on the display.
