There might be a few customer rejections knocking about due to the seat and electronic shortages as well.

BMW have totally lost it on pricing for the M3/4. And residuals are laughable. It's in 911 territory. But a 911 it is not.

I agree, not just a bit overpriced but blatantly overpriced.

WBAC clearly think so too as they are valuing the used ones with 1000 miles on the clock at over £20k less than the dealers are asking for them in a car market that is usually offering over the odds for used cars at present... I'd say the WBAC prices that start with a 6 are really what they are worth though it's not the price that puts me off the most Having said that I know I went mad with the spec on my F80 and probably dropped £20k when I drove it off the forecourt but the G8X really do seem like a poor investment - when I was comparing with a new 992 Carrera S with the spec I'd want on both if I bought on a PCP I could make the numbers much the same as the 992s residuals can be almost double the G8X... So glad I bought my F80 when I did and didn't wait for the G80 - it is just 3 years old and I now plan on keeping for probably another 3 years - it'll be the longest time I've ever owned a car by a large margin - suits me perfectly...

Here are some figures for you:
I bought a Porsche Cayman 981 2.7 manual in January 2014, it was 4 months old.
I paid just under £40K , a £6K saving on new,in reality the cost of the extras.
I sold it 6.5 years later to a Porsche dealer for £24.5K
Thats £15.5 K depreciation in 6.5 years.
Several factors boosted the used car value.
1. It was 6 cylinder whereas the 718 is 4
2. Manuals are rare and in demand.
My wife used to drive this car as well as me and we replaced it with a Honda E.
Stop laughing !! It’s a great little car.

Totally agree - I looked at WBAC prices for G8x - scary - as are GFV - not even BMW are convinced of their worth in the future - and xDrive is hit with £3K less GFV. My M4 has increased over £5K since January for comparison. However, if I could pick up a nearly new M4 for £15-20K less, i would consider it!! As long as it's not a ka ka colour!
