Fixing Carly coding mess
Hi all,
so, yesterday I had my first coding expericne on an F30 using Carly. I successfully coded the M logo on both the iDrive and on the cluster / KOMBI. Then I decided to revert to the original setup: while this was sucessful for the iDrive system, Carly failed to code the KOMBI and since then it's a real mess: dials are not working, multiple error messages related to hardware I don't have (e.g. the roof is not closed, but I have no roof) - also the logo of the car is not the F30: it looks like a 1 series. I tried to disconnect the battery for 10-15 min as suggested, but the problems persist. To my understanding, the next step is to reset to factory settings via E-SYS by selecting the Kombi module and click on "Code". Can anybody confirm? By the way, I actually have the "extended" cluster display: in this case, is it KOMBI or DKOMBI? Thanks! |

Well, I solved following Carly's tips. Basically:
1. disconnecting the battery for 15 min 2. re-run Carly diagnostic and delete all errors 3. switch-off the car and wait other 15 minutes 4. set Carly connection speed to slow 5. re-code the affected ECU using a previous back-up The errors where all there until the last step. I have the feeling that the speed config made the trick, but I'm not sure. Hope this is useful info should anybody else have similar issues with Carly. |

Hello,
I coded the same thing as you in my f20 1 series 2018, unfortunately i got a black screen after a error popped up with coding something in i drive. Now the idrive is dead and does nothing anymore, reflashing the backup is also giving a error. Do you think it is the best option to now just unplug the battery or is that to risky ? |
