Were these all PnP for the F3x series?

Absolutely, exactly the same dimensions, mounting and connectors for both mids and tweeters. Just be aware the B&W tweeters have shorter cables - no problem for dash, no problem for front doors (just need shorter cable path), little bit tricky for the rear doors, as the tweeters are clipped in the doorboards. No big deal, just remember that for the future, as it requires very careful operation in case you need to remove the doorboards later. Not for this reason, but I suggest to make a proper door soundproofing (and damping of the rattling door pins) with installation of the speakers. A significant improvement both for the sound quality and the sound isolation of the entire car.

Yeah I don’t recommend this mod with HK. As an audiophile for over 30yrs it quickly reveals that the standard BO setting is basically Logik 7 Surround turned off and expanded is turned On in comparison.

Next you will notice a big drop off in bass and high end with either which requires a great deal of tweaking to get a better sound IMO.

I went back to HK setting menus and right back to my regular tweaks.

Clearly the only path to better sound is new drivers and amp with this setup. The BO is clearly designed for that system whatever this setting does. Without equipment do t know exactly to monitor it, but the quick listen and tweaks I tried just weren’t cutting it for me.

Cool for some maybe, try go yourself.

Have you tried coding different options of audio_system_variant under Headunit/3002?

It is not exactly correct there is at least 1 significant difference when you compare changes when playing with B&O vs HK DSP profiles.
When used B&O DSP on HK you can hear that the front center has more volume comparing to HK DSP profile, it is something that you immediately pay attention. So there is some difference.

I have base audio (since i dont have tweeters, and center speaker, also in doubt of subwoofers although i hear and feel them (europe)), does this mean i have HK amp with base audio?

European base audio has no separate amp, it's contained in the HU. The under seat woofers are 6.5 inch. There's no point in having 8 inch as the meager HU amplification is too weak to justify them.

Thank you, i was thinking in speaker upgrade and also install door tweeters (buying door tweeter covers), but how are the tweeters wired to?

Will i notice any diference?

There's no point in changing any of the speakers as the HU doesn't have enough power to drive them. Adding tweeters wouldn't hurt. How to do that is shown in this thread. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1475424

does the stock hk logic7 profile have the 7 band equalizer?

does the stock hk logic7 profile have the 7 band equalizer in idrive?
I've been running the b&o profile on my car for so long I forgot...
That's my favorite feature of the b&o profile and I believe it goes away if I revert back to logic7. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Thanks

This has been covered in various threads, but I recently coded this and can report that and I used the same track and did some side-by-side comparisons of the Logic7 and B&O Expanded DSPs...the clear winner, to both of our sets of ears, was the B&O.

The music was enveloping. Highs and mids created a floating soundstage in the upper part of the cabin with (obviously) omni-directional lows providing a beefy foundation. I thought I might've been hearing things, but Aman agreed that there was more instrumental separation and that the surround effect was much more saturated.

Everyone's ears and preferences are 100% their own and music is incredibly subjective, but this takes just moments to code and is completely reversible. So experiment and see if this improves your satisfaction with the HK system. If not, change it back and keep rollin'.

The mod is very simple:

HU_NBT(or CIC) > Expert Mode > 3000 HMI > HIGH_END_AUDIO_MENUE

Change the value from whatever it is to volle_insz and code.

Cycle the vehicle on/off after the coding is complete and you'll notice that the Logic7 option and checkbox have vanished and that Bang & Olufson now sits at the top of the Tone menu.

If you select this option, you'll have your choice of two DSPs: Studio and Expanded.

Studio is definitely tighter and more focused and much more localized to the physical locations of each speaker.

Expanded sounds as though there are no speakers, just one homogenzied pool of sound throughout the cabin.

Hoping to hear from folks on their experiences and whether or not they kept it or reverted back to L7.

Thank you for your post, appreciate it, it works on my NBT EVO F30 iD6

I changed to B&O on my F36 and it definitely improved but something wasn't quite right, I did not like the sound at higher volumes..

Just did B&W and the sound is greatly improved over the other two, i'm honestly surprised how much better it sounds with just coding.

I had to temporarily replace my center mid with a spare alpha one speaker I have because the stock HK dash speaker started to blow itself up shortly after B&O.

I'm planning on replacing all the speakers and tweeters with B&W, I was searching to see if there's any way to get that ambient lighting at least on the tweeters and i've seen some china kits, has anyone ever installed these and can chime in how they hook up to the regular ambient lighting?

Thank you so much man, I just did this to mine. It sounds better, I even got my friend to sit in it and they confirmed that I'm not imagining things, pretty damn noticeable improvement. And here is the EQ I used with it, very balanced for most genre of music. I'm finally satisfied with my H&K system. Was considering bavsound pro amp for $1800, nah, this is good enough.

Just switched from HK L7 to the B&O system. So far it sounds really good. Im still experimenting but what I can for sure say is that I seem to have the volume nob higher to max than before.

Both speakers are really loud at the halfway mark, but I think HK is louder if both volumes are meant in the middle. This doesn't mean it sounds better though. I think the HK base is a bit deeper, but overall I think the audio is clearer and better quality from the B&O coding. In a few days, I'll have my mind set to which one I should keep.
