Agreed before my car came I only heard clips online, I thought it sounded good but in person it sounds way better.

I come from a 235i.

I appreciate that the engines are different (N55 vs B58) but wow - they sound TOTALLY different.

B58 is much deeper, throatier and it really growls.
N55 was a higher pitch overall, a lot louder.

Even the pops are completely different sound - B58 very very deep, bassy, boomy sound.

I will be de-catting at some point soon!

This is all very encouraging. My 340 with MPPSK is coming in late April and I've never heard one in person--absolutely no dealers have them on the lot. So youtube and feedback on the forum has been my saving grace. I will admit some of the youtube vids make it sound cheap but I attribute that to poor audio/recording quality.

What I found is a lot of videos seem to emphasize the pops you hear when you let off the throttle at high Rpm which on video could sound cheapish but I feel in person it sounds good (I find myself making the sound on purpose pretty often lol). During regular driving in sport the car sounds deep and has nice burbles to it.

MPPSK is where I'm leaning just for the warranty and increased residual value. It's tested by BMW and the power gains are within spec for the ZF trans if you have that or the manual. JB4 may cause I drive errors and you may want to put it back to stock when you sell your car and maybe sell the JB4 separately.

I think I've watched every video in youtube with the MPPSK
Since I'm leasing I added MPPSK + M Performance Package for an extra $30 a month. Can't beat that.

One aspect of the MPPSK people tend to forget, you actually can put it in comfort and have a very normal sounding exhaust. Someday I'm going to try it.

Sometimes I try it so I drive less aggressive and improve my MPG, usually doesn't last more then a block or two...

This video may help with getting an idea of how civilised MPPSK is in Comfort Mode.

Arm chair quarterback, "I heard it from a youtube clip", but disregards the opinion of people who actually own it.
The cost of the MPPSK varies significantly depending on where you purchase it from, so not sure where you are getting your 3k from.

Ya normally you would remove a tune like the JB4 when selling or returning the car to BMW. Then you would either use JB4 on your next car or sell if its not the same compatible car.
