Is it worth buying? A new C63 AMG

I found preregistered 68 plate C63 AMG with Premium package and upgraded alloys and zero mileage for £55k. It is ca £13k down from a list price..
The downside is lack of AMG sport seats, pretty basic audio, no “nanny” system helping you to drive daily, no keyless entry or sunroof I’m used to in my car.
Your thoughts please.

According C2C it would have been at least £3k more for a brand new one plus waiting time..

If you can live without those things, it's a great saving. If you can't, it will annoy you over time and would be a waste of £55k.

For me the basic audio and no sun roof would make it a no for me at 55k

I can’t believe that a C63 doesn’t come with sports seats as standard!?

It can’t have the premium package! The premium package consists of the sunroof, upgraded stereo and keyless entry which is all the things the op says it hasn’t got.

It does have sports seats. The C63 has regular sports seats and the C63S has upgraded Performance sports seats, google it.

Sounds like the op has been misinformed by some bullshit salesman, or the ad is wrong.

(Well, unless they have changed the facelift model significantly from the pre-face)

These are probably sport seats but not AMG performance seats - that is how they probably call them.
Fully true that those small things would annoy you over time in everyday life when you can’t use any potential of a car crawling in heavy traffic. That would make you feeling no differenet than a driver of plain C200d Merc. I love my car toys which can be used when needed.
There are however two small round things attached to a steering wheel like in Porsche or Ferrari for switching driving modes, suspension and exhaust settings, quite cool

Yes, they have changed. Premium package is standard for C63, it does not have Premium Plus anyway. This one also has inteligent multibeam LED lights, one step forward from previous ILS.

I think you will find that it's cheap because it doesn't have the premium plus pack. It was very rare to get a pre facelift without the premium package, infact my dealer said they were a bit of a nightmare to shift without. Also the standard seats are way more comfortable but still offer loads of support, and the night pack gets rid of all the horrible chrome.

Personally I would wait for one with the pp pack and night pack

Oh are they the seats with the fixed head rests? Definitely better with the standard ones if they have adjustable head rests.

The standard seats have the adjustable headrest and are way more comfortable especially if you have a bad back like me

It may feel like a saving but there's something about the spec that makes it feel a bit on the cheap side. It can be tempting to get caught in the excitement of grabbing a deal, but I wonder whether the thrill might wear off quickly when you realise that you actually wanted more.

That is a good point Watsey. My current well spec car (C43) does have a good, premium feeling no matter what. I have a loaner now without keyless entry and it is frustrating for me no matter what engine sits inside.
Even no watch on central console and plain piano black trim which gets scratched even from looking at it makes your feeling a bit blunt after while. I think I know what to do. and all that thanks to the best BMW forum .

These are the performance seats below, standard in the C63S, I had them. For me they looked really nice, but too uncomfortable. Too heavily bolstered, even more than the M3

Yes I agree Scott, wish I had them in mine!

I have these performance seats and I like them.. I did a long trip around 4k miles in 2 weeks, going through Germany too and I did not feel any back problems, cramps etc. and they look very good.

If you can live without the extras then yes. If not then no. For me with the premium plus package... I don't think I would have bought the car without it. The Burmester sounds highly detailed so audio would be a deal breaker. I think you can push them a bit more on price though given the lack of spec.

I've noticed the easy scratching as well. I think that's the difference in quality between previous generations and now. On an older Mercedes say 90's you won't experience scratching like that. Gives a premium car a really cheap feel.
